1/6 Hot Toys DX19 - The Dark Knight Rises - 1/6th scale Batman Collectible Figure

I do and don’t agree at the same time. The shelf presence isn’t insanely different but if you go look at this figure specifically, pick up, or photograph it, the transformation seems gigantic IMO.

These pictures are kind of crappy I need to take more comparison shots with my latest paint work and a real camera.

For those looking for a Wayne suit, apparently TOPO Toys will be making a TDK suit soon. They're usually pretty good quality based on reviews of their previous products so no need to try to search high and low for the PopToys one anymore.

topo will most likely be better. their material is light. poptoy's vest looks too thick to me, personally. shoes on topo's look inaccurate but I feel most won't care. i want to see a closer design of the shoes first

maybe might be different but previous sets were recommended M01 body, at least for joker. unsure about bruce wayne but kit no longer carries M01 bodies apparently due to how much came damaged?

Looks like I'll go with the topo for my Wayne bash. Have the poptoys suit and it's still in the box

I did design a neck for the DX19 it’s available on my site DM if you need the link.

I finally did a comparison pic of my custom DX19 and the new Begins figure. I’m happy to say I think I’ve got both suits looking at equal quality which honestly felt impossible when I got started.

Actually looks like the same guy in both suits. Not just the face, but the height and build too. No company has managed to do that. They actually look like they should be together. Great work.

No reason Hot Toys couldn’t produce a head that good, especially when they just did an all new Keaton head with individual eyes.

Both have the same style cowl, no reason they couldn’t have done a head as beautiful as yours with functional eyes.

I love just staring at it. It’s the best collectible Begins cowl I’ve ever seen. Better than even the 1:1 prop since those are deteriorating/warped.

Thank you. That’s a huge compliment and making sure they looked like the same person in a different suit was a goal of mine.

Fortunately the bodies on the DX19 and new Begins figure are already pretty close aside from the stock DX19 shoulder pads that are shaped like garden shovels.

The cowls are as accurate to true 1:6 scale as possible.

All I had to really do from scratch was the modifications to the necks. I mostly used photo overlays to check if the proportions were good from different angles.

I know what you mean about staring at it. These two were the figures that got me into the hobby and this character means a lot to me so being able to see the end result on the shelf is still pretty surreal for me too.
