I'll be passing on this figure, since I don't see any significant improvements over the older figures that I still have - with the exception being the light-up sonar head, which might be superior to the current "giraffe neck" look of the DX02 (though it's not all that bad on the Armory body). I might pick that up separately, rather than spend $300 on a redundant figure.
Some have said this figure has a more accurate cowl - but even looking at side-by-side pics, I'm hard-pressed to tell the difference. Looking at my figures on the shelves, I can't see anything about the cowl shape that stands out as being inaccurate or problematic. In fact, looking at the side-by-side pics, I think I prefer the look of the old figure - the new cowl looks a bit too wide, which gives the eyes a more cartoony look to me, even if some claim it is more accurate.
I'm happy for collectors that have the ability to add a Bale Batman to their collection at a more affordable price than the secondary market would allow (though it's still super expensive!). I started having a large enough disposable income to get into collecting right when HT upped their game in 2009 with the Bank Robber Joker, so I got in on the ground floor (brand new figures were less than half the price they are now!) and consider myself lucky for it, timing-wise.
I do wish HT would give us Batman Returns Penguin and Catwoman - I'd imagine the "missed opportunity" of re-releasing a figure that many already have, rather than a figure that hasn't been made (but was teased) is what really drives a lot of resentment on the part of older collectors towards these "re-releases."
