Is it hard to replace shoulder pads? I don't want to damage the stock pads
I’ll verify the difficulty and make a tutorial. I have a copy of the figure coming from HK right now. If the parts are similar enough I’ll do the tutorial on a DX12/Armory I have and wait to make mods to the DX19 once I have a Sideshow copy in hand.

If I love the DX19 I can’t be butchering my only copy 😂

If they work just like the DX12 which I’m sure they do, then it should just be a matter of pulling the little triangle at the collar out and pulling some elastic off underneath then glueing the new one down to the same spots as the original. The second plate underneath will ship already attached to the top one with its own strap just like the 1/4.

I’m going to make my drape capes available again at $30 shipped in the US but only after I get the figure. Hopefully that will be this week and I can tailor it to the exact length I want. I also only plan to sell ones that are already made and ready to go so they may be in short supply initially.
That's a very good price. Do you make them for the 1/4 scale figure to?

Yes but they’re more expensive and a completely different material. I’ve sourced what I believe to be the thinnest, mattest, and blackest velvet on the market. It’s thin enough to still scale well at the collar area but still has a nice nap and is jet black.

I’ve been planning a two plate shoulder pad solution for a while just been waiting for this to drop first to see if they were going to change them up last minute. They’ll basically work just like the 1/4 version. I’ll start the design work now and hopefully have prototypes around the time the Sideshow orders start shipping.
That'll be cool to see. That was something that has always bothered my about the HT TDK suits.

I attempted something similar years ago with the DX12, but it was very DIY made with epoxy putty. Didn't function as well as I had hoped. It definitely was not as professional looking as what yours will more than likely turn out to be. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. You would think it would be something easy for HT to do especially since they've done it on the 1/4. But then again, they're still giving us the same, small selection of hands since the original MMS TDK figure :slap

Those are stunning! The matte black contrasts perfectly against the suits.

The one that came with my QS001 is a nice enough custom but the material becomes almost through when exposed to daylight or strong LED's.

You can faintly see pinpoints of light from a light source through this if it’s one layer of fabric held up but it’s nothing like some of the almost sheer lightweight fabrics I’ve seen people use. Fortunately the material is thin enough that I can make my capes large enough that it’s uncommon that you’d have any area of drape that’s only one layer of material.

The begins ones are almost a full circle with a thin pie piece cut out. TDK ones have a slightly larger piece cut out since you don’t want too much material at the shoulder on them.

I'd buy new shoulder pads for even my DX12 if someone made them. They're the biggest eyesore on the figure.

That and the terrible looking elbow pad attached to the gauntlet. Ruins any look of the figure with bent elbows.

I'm happy with how this came out. I can finally own a DK Batman. I won't say it's a bad figure until I got it in hand if I want to upgrade it later then I'll probably do that or just leave it stock.

I really hate the new chest plate. There are some angles on it that are a little more accurate but the trade off is that the new chest is way too big and puffy. They needed to scale it down or something- its goofy looking. The size of it just makes the dx12 chest far superior.

After several times now at having a crack at perfecting this figure, it should at least be comparable to Jaxon's custom Dark Knight figure.
I see little subtle changes. Oohh...he's taller! Yawn!
If your comparison is to a figure that is a decade's old, the changes shouldn't be subtle, it should be a LOT!

You would think they would at least get the freaking cape right.
Good news for those selling the capes. You're still in business.
The Gloves are still WRONG! We were cutting the top of the gloves 10 years ago Hot Toys to make it more screen Accurate.
You would think that after seeing all these customization people are doing to their older figure, they would at least...at least, get the cape right.
Proportions still look toyish to me.
At this point, this should be amazing and almost perfect, straight out of the box.

And you wonder why people are excited about Queen Studios.

Looks like Queen's is not doing bale batman so far, those are all Ben afleck 1/6 statues

I really like the proportions of hot toys 1/4 bale batman, it looks so good
Actually i believe the affleck pieces are all 1/9 scale

This town deserves a better class of shoulder pad, and I’m gonna give it to ‘em.

How would one go about ordering one of the capes .Do you have a website?

Yeah, shopotcustoms.com, I only have a limited number of items listed but plan to do a big relaunch of my 1:6 TDK stuff once I get this figure. I can post updates here too since there’s not a great organic way to keep an eye on the website.

I have digital files of the enterbay chins and I’m considering scaling them down and reshaping to fit the DX19 cowl since the chin plates appear to have turned out too small on the production piece.

I’m thinking I’ll photograph the back of the new chin and print it out larger, trace it onto a clear film and then tape that on my iPad to match the digital shape to cut the Enterbay chin with. Should result in a perfect fit with only a few test prints.
