Arrggg, disaster.

Ive just received my ED-209, and whilst I was carefully unpacking it, I noticed the left foot was unattached to its left leg (when I pulled out the leg, the foot just sat there. I thought this was normal as it was the first leg I pulled out). Thinking it was a case of popping in the ball joint, to my horror the ball joint had sheared clean in half, one part in the foot, the other in the leg.

I hope to get a replacement part, as I really don't want to ship it all the way back to the US (I live in the UK) as it was expensive to get here. Ive emailed Hot Toys and BBTS, so fingers crossed I can get it resolved.

Has anyone else contacted either with a problem? And if so, were they helpful? At the moment my ED-209 is held together with super glue and a prayer.

sorry to hear it! I contacted Hot Toys about an issue with my Robocop figure. They asked me to send them pics of the problem. After that they asked me to send them back the figure, and then they sent a replacement. No issues at all! Make sure if you have to send the figure back, that you tell them how much it costs before sending it, because then they can cover the cost of shipping the product to them. I spoke with Germaine at Hot Toys and she was very helpful. Good luck!

It all depends on where you bought it. I've had problems with HT figures from both Sideshow and Toy Square. In the case of Toy Square, I had a broken goggle strap and they just sent me a replacement pare of goggles. Another time I had a broken rifle which I had to send back to them on my own dime for a replacement. With Sideshow, I bought mine from Razor's Edge and I sent the whole broken figure to the store with their pre-paid label who would then send it back to Sideshow, Sideshow would then send him the fully replaced boxed figure and Razor's Edge then sent it along to me. I'd try contacting BBTS first for a replacement, hopefully they'll cover shipping.

I have the normal version of ED which has a cracked and spit rubber head piece, which I believe is a common failure. Does anyone have a suggestion on the best method to repair the damage? What have other owners of ED done about this issue? Thanks.

Sorry for the old bump but just wanted your opinion guys. I have two offers so far. One for the normal version and the other is for the battle damaged version. Both offers are at the same price. I'm really split on which to choose, I kinda prefer how bad ass the bd version looks like and I heard that one is much more limited? (500 pieces??) But at the same time I'd much rather go for something that will hold its value better which might be the case for the normal version. I don't intend to sell it but just in case I do need to, it would be nice to know that I don't have to sell it for a loss. So which would be the better option? Really appreciate your input!

I expect more people in ED's case would rather have the normal version in their collection over the BD. Thus for future value I think that'd be the better one unless HT end up remaking or rereleasing it.

Hey guys I tried posting in the robocrain thread, but I think everyone was just too excited about the news. lol. Sorry for the bump but I can't access ebay for some reason, each time I try to log in I get an error msg. (The website link is broken kinda msg) and I wanna know if I did get ripped off.


I JUST bought the robocop and (normal vers) ed 209 hot toys for USD$130 and USD$180 each.

Unfortunately both robocop and ed209 were missing the inner foams ((that comes with the box) but they still come with the box.

It was a local pickup so didn't have to pay for shipping. My friend helped me pick it up so he was unaware of the missing foam. (I'm not really aware of the going rate for both pieces since I've been having problems logging in to ebay recently ) Both pieces are in great condition but really bummed that I didn't get the foams. Hope I didn't overpay. What do you guys think?

PS: Really really excited about robocain though. Can't believe I'll have a set of my favourite robots.

lol, thanks guys! Appreciate the input. I figured the prices might have dropped due to ed209's dome issues and the fact that mine was missing the really nice gray foam that comes with the figures. Glad to know I made the right call.
