Show off his legs in shorts to give him the more comic book look? Beats me. If you look really hard in the first Hellboy, when Myers meets HB for the first time, he's wearing shorts and you can see skinny red legs leading down to his little hoof feet.

Wow. Read that again. Attack of the run-on sentence.

Yeah. I noticed that, was pretty cool.
I dunno just really like the simpleness of the design in the comics, would be nice to work on somthing that isnt amazingly hard either. Found some Rocky leg cover's so ill have a look around the web and get some info on this kind of thing : P

Just got Abe and HB yesterday and I think these are the sweetest 12" figures I've ever owned. I'm blown away!

I had two issues that I need to address though. First, on Abe, has anyone had one of the valve pieces on his chest come loose after moving him around for the first time? I think Michael Crawford had some sort of issue with his Abe that he mentioned during his review but I was curious if this was just a couple of isolated incidents or universal.

Second, I think HT should have used a break at the shoulders on the HB muscle body as they did with Dutch. Just my opinion but I would have been willing to deal with the break in the muscle body for the added possibility.

I was hoping they would do that as well... but maybe being so individualized (as this body was) the extra work and cost wasn't justified to them.

I wonder how they got it over the Truetype? Perhaps it was just molded right over the body? I have yet to do the "full undress" so I don't know where the outer body suit ends.

Also, the zippers on Abe are just way over the top. HT exceeds my wildest expectations with these. When I first set them up and took a step back and looked at them there was nothing else to do! No futzing, no adjusting, nothing. Perfect, at least to me, right out of the box.... I need a Dutch cigar for HB. :banana

so underneath the rubber is a regular TT? I suppose if anyone who just want to pose their HB with the coat on at all times can perform some surgery to give the figure more arm articulation.

Nah, there is an armature underneath it... at least that's what I've seen from a past body that was stripped down.

I wouldn't recommend HB surgery for added articulation - I think the armature is designed to limit movement so you don't overdo it on the rubber. You'll most likely just end up very, very pissed off.

EDIT: I might be wrong, here's a pic of what's underneath. Credit to Sachiel for originally posting it here -

I just popped my HB onto a regular Truetype so he could do the heavy lifting for Abe.

What did you do to the true type to get the body shape and what kind of paint did you use on the body ?

HB is on a standard Truetype with the Sideshow shirt. I made bigger pecs out of Sculpey and padded the rest of his upper body with some thick tape cut to fit around the articulation. I filled out his waist by wrapping it in electrical tape, which is also good because it's black and glossy just like his pants. That's a regular Truetype neck that I painted with Tamiya acrylics and sealed with flat clearcoat.
I love the HT rubber body (I plan on picking up an extra to customize long horns onto and display shirtless) but I really wanted HB to have some versatility.

I posted these pics a while ago. (He's also wearing SSC Ultimate HB's black bubble vest in most of them).

Ah! It was a week or two ago. I completely forgot! Looks great! :banana

I would love to do something similar but will have to weigh my desire to sacrifice a TT to this. Afterall, I will still display him with the muscle body.

Yeah the muscle body is beautiful but since I'm collecting much less now I could afford to spend some extra $$$ on the experiment.
Either way you can't lose. :rock

It does look amazing. Think I might give it a try if I can get another Hellboy or the parts cheap. Are the pants Hot Toys or Sideshow ?

I kept the HT pants. I know some prefer the SSC and someone posted a pic recently that made them look quite good.
A tip for anyone interested - in my pic with Abe and Hellboy, HB's hand and cigar are from HT Dutch. A very simple repaint that looks awesome!
