Strewth, I panicked there I thought mine had gone up and I only sent it in earlier this week!
I did a double whammy of both HB + Abe, It's not too much of a spoiler to say I love'em both, but like Mike, Abe actually manages to steal HB's thunder, he's just fantastic... you won't be dissaponted. I was lucky that I had no breakage issues and I didn't get the white marks that Mike encountered either.

Yeah Abe is great. If you ask me looks better than the prototype photos.

I was amazed, too. I thought Abe would be kinda lackluster, but the attention to detail on him and his outfit is just amazing. Even the boots are super-nice, they took the time to paint the individual eyelets. It's the super crisp attention to all details that really does make him shine. The magnetized goggles are neat, too.

I went off on a bit of a rant on OSW but basically my opinion is as follows: 12" tall is about 6' scale wise. HB's a bit over 12", not a lot, but enough to make him the correct scale to Ron Pearlman in the role. Sideshow (and even slightly older HT figures) imo are generally out of scale. They are too large. Medicom, Dragon, and older BBI figures are more in actual scale. The Sideshow Hellboy is like 7' tall scale wise, Hot Toys Jack Sparrow is similarly out of scale, although not as bad.

Hot Toys with their recent figures (Ironman, Hellboy, Predator, Michael Jackson) seems to be starting to correct for scale. Even the more recent Sideshow Pro bodied figures seem to be moving to correct for scale. That's just my opninion but my math seems to support it (then again my math could be wrong).
I agree with you also. I've noticed that swing towards proper scale with the new releases and SSs Pro body. I have not wanted to modify my Hellboy, but I did do ankle surgery on my POTC Jack, Will, and ankle extension to Elizabeth.

Here's a pic of Hellboy and Abe. I tried the SS HB pants on him and ended up liking them. The pants ride a little high on his waist, but it doesn't look bad at all.

Got Hellboy and Abe yesterday from BBTS.

I've only had time to open Hellboy so far...more pics to add to the thread:

Here's another pic of Hellboy and Abe, my last one makes it look like HB is about to shoot Abe in the head.

The pants being a bit higher waisted I think is both more film accurate and makes his torso appear a big wider. Both which are good imo.

Works for me too. I like the SS pants and that's about all I like about the SS Hellboy figure now that I have the HT one.

We do have some artistes in this thread. Definitely some beautiful photography.

Who'd you buy from? That's a great price.

It wasn't from an eBay store, just a private seller with two separate auctions. The starting price on Abe was 125 and there were no bids with about an hour and a half left. I also noticed he had a Hellboy that started at 125 that had a bid on it. The seller was local so I emailed him and inquired as to how much combined shipping would be for both. He was asking 15 ea for shipping but agreed to ship to me for 20 total. Anyway, HB was finishing first and I snuck in and got him for 140. I bid 145 on Abe but he finished for 125, the original starting price. So both for 285, total (pretty sure I wrote 280 earlier, my bad)... Anyway, All this during the last couple minutes of my work day, Needless to say I was all smiles driving home.

Even the best of prices at BBTS or any other online retailer would have had me paying more then 285 for both before tax and shipping. Guess this was just a lucky score! :joy Funny, the guy that was selling these had three various Predators, the Cleaner, Wolf and Lost that all went for around a hundred bucks too. Seems like he could have done much better.

So has anyone managed to bend Hellboy's arms forward at the shoulder? The promo pics seem to show that but the instructions don't and I don't think I have seen anyone do it.

Do you mean at the elbow or at the shoulders?

Mine is bent forward, but not too much. I have the Rocky III Rocky, Clubber Lang, and Apollo Creed, which are on similar muscular bodies and I've had their arms bent forward in boxing stances for several months now. I like my HB in the pose I have him in now, so I don't plan on bending his arms forward anymore than they are right now.
