I had this same debate for a while. Until less than a week ago. I have never had an iron man and i liked both V and AU. While i think AU looks more "classy" and better in a stationary pose i think V is the better "figure". V is a bit slim in static poses but all it takes is a bit of playing around with. A slight chest twist, leg bent/turned and twisted elbow and your problems are gone. Not to mention the battle damaged swap out armour and the suitcase which means you can make any guy transform into IM V... then fight and get battle damaged.. where as AU means you can have him in bits on a table.
I might be more biased because i ended up buying the mk V but it was purely do i want a figure with the ability to be damaged and have colour or a figure, the ability to lay in bits on a table that id never use.
I still like the AU too but now i think if i was to get another it would be mk vi.
