I always thought the stormtroopers he surrendered to took it off him when they frisked him. But there must also be some creative reason - like, everything superfluous is being stripped away from Luke as he grows into his destiny. Finally he throws his lightsaber away. Good costuming always reflects character development.

Without the belt keeping the tunic in place it wouldn't look right hanging loosely during the duel.
You would presume the figure will come with the tunic and cloak for the price. Better not do what Sideshow did with the latest Maul.

it will be interesting to see how these sculpts will turn out. leia I`m wondering if they will reuse the ANH sculpt and just do some revisions to the hair.

YOu can only see the lower half, but neither look spectacular based on that. The Luke looks a bit Robby Benson in the mouth and Leia doesn't look great, but really hard to say just based on the lower half. The ANH sculpt was really great but Leia does look different in ESB vs ANH. She looks very chubby-cheeked teen in ANH whereas in ESB she's looking a bit leaner and older (the drugs were aging her quickly - by ROTJ she almost looks matronly in some shots.)

What I find strange is that neither this nor Leia were displayed in person - if Luke has been ready for that long, which I don't doubt - and even the photos of them left off much of the HS for each. It's like they don't have faith in their product or have become super picky given all the criticism of other OT sculpts (or maybe Disney has). I find it highly unlikely that I will use whatever sculpt comes out of the box, glad I've got a spare DX07 head.

I also just wanted to add - if you have to buy a deluxe Luke to get the cloak, as some have speculated, then this hobby has jumped the shark. What's next, an Indiana Jones figure where the hat and the whip only come with the deluxe?

Both will be "Mather-forthh" reveals - the annual SW ritual that mocks people with lisps.

Well, Sideshow did release an Indiana Jones without a jacket, so anything's possible.

I think it's possible/likely the Endor Poncho and helmet might be deluxe items, but not the brown cloak. Maybe people are just mixing up the terms 'poncho' and 'cloak'

My guess is he'll have the cloak. Look at the farmboy Luke. He was loaded with basically everything including some things he didn't use in the film (only deleted scenes).

Umm, because they showed half the actual sculpt that shows the whole lower part of the face, and didn't just announce them by name or by a silhouette. So there is indeed something to comment on already (if you look at the much higher res pics taken of the announcement slides on Rebelscum and a couple of other sites) so there is indeed a point.

It's like you can clearly see in the full-body Leia Hoth preview pic that her boots are quite a bit too long/high to be accurate. It's visible in an official pic, so it's okay to comment on it even at this point, right? Confusion abated?

Same here, Jedi Luke was one of my first figures from Sideshow....and since HT got into the SW license I've been waiting for their Jedi Luke.
