Were the images of Luke and Leia shown at celebration during a Sideshow panel?

I think it's because for most collectors, the OT is more nostalgic because many collectors are likely in the age range where those are the SW films from their youth. So between the two, they'd be more apt to splurge on the OT than the ST.

While TFA was likeable enough I didn't find it collectable worthy. It's not the SW I was already familiar with, nor the future I wanted to see.

RO, on the other hand, is nostalgic by proxy, set as it is right at the onset of the classic era. Plus it has the Felicity factor - I ordered deluxe Jyn as well as Imperial Jyn.

PF ROTJ Fett - that tremendous gap in the collar is still really bothering me. but I learned to live with the incorrect mythosaur on the ESB Fett, so I dunno I still may be able to look past it.

I really enjoyed TFA, but only picked up Rey and BB-8, Stormtrooper Finn, Kylo Ren and plan on getting Old Han. I figured Resistance Rey and Old Luke would be revisited in the next film and there was no need for the variations of Troopers or Phasma or another Chewie.

RO was a better movie imo and I am getting both Jyn's, K2-SO and will get Chirut if Baze does get released.

I think the reason we can get OT still and cheap is the inferior sculpts....had they nailed them....they would have been sellouts for sure...Leia came close.

TFA was definitely over produced...just picked up Phasma for under 150 shipped. BBTS is only a small seller of these items.....You would not believe how many I saw in Akihabra and Osaka in Japan last year. Stacks of them......

HT needs to be smarter about the runs....or everyone will start to wait on the secondary market to drop prices. The days of sellout everywhere are pretty much gone.....HT will not lose profit because they ran out of stock....let secondary seller worry about that.

The initial run of Original Trilogy figures sold out for the most part. Hot Toys did a second batch for some of them. That's why they're still around.

Ah let's remember the OT figures were re produced. Originally Han and Chewie, Obi-Wan and Vader were all sold out and jumped in price on the aftermarket before a second run was produced. The Stormtrooper were all sold out and never re released and the price remains high on those.

They should return them to be repackaged as TLJ and put them up for PO.

Well this is my point.....IMO HT will never let this happen again....They want the sales.......not Ebay.

So now all they have to do is make a decent run.....watch for a need for a second or third run...and keep the profits with themselves rather than the scalpers.

To paraphrase Herb "do you know what it costs to make these things....theres like 50cents of plastic in them..."

In the end the result is the same......some time down the line.....you will see most SW figure available for under cost .....all you need is
PATIENCE!

At first you were trying to make it seem like the figures didn't sell because of the sculpts. I know not everyone liked the sculpts but they did sell out the first run on a bunch of figures from the Original Trilogy. The reason you can still get them is the second run which may have been over produced.

Why did Luke lose the outer tunic? He's wearing it on Endor but it's gone after his capture and during the duel.

What's funny is this particular figure has been almost ready to unveil since HT got the SW license.

What I find strange is that neither this nor Leia were displayed in person - if Luke has been ready for that long, which I don't doubt - and even the photos of them left off much of the HS for each. It's like they don't have faith in their product or have become super picky given all the criticism of other OT sculpts (or maybe Disney has). I find it highly unlikely that I will use whatever sculpt comes out of the box, glad I've got a spare DX07 head.

I also just wanted to add - if you have to buy a deluxe Luke to get the cloak, as some have speculated, then this hobby has jumped the shark. What's next, an Indiana Jones figure where the hat and the whip only come with the deluxe?

I always thought the stormtroopers he surrendered to took it off him when they frisked him. But there must also be some creative reason - like, everything superfluous is being stripped away from Luke as he grows into his destiny. Finally he throws his lightsaber away. Good costuming always reflects character development.
