Sweet! Plus I can never be mad with you :p I was just posting some hate towards Mars Attacks all in fun since so many people love this movie. Its weird how it has such a following wasn't my cup of tea, but I haven't seen it since it came out.

My thing is that the cards and the old comics made the series sooooo cool and the movie didn't seem to live up to that for me.

Because they can't attain the rights to those movies or to Chris Loyd's likeness or Michael J Fox's. Guys likeness rights can cost millions and millions of dollars, for just for Doc Brown and Marty, if they'd even give up the rights would cost well over 10 million and I'm not counting the actual back to the future license in that.

I had to step in at this point. The reason there isn't 1/6 or official BTTF figures isn't because of money its because of Michael J. Fox. He refuses to allow his likeness to be done and that stops the entire process. Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, many other celebrities from the films are all really still incorporated into the film, they just showed up to a BTTF "convention" not too long ago. Plenty of companies have tried but with MJF gives the no-go they just stop it cold turkey which is why we see a nice selection of DeLoreans but nothing else. You put too much stock in how much it'd cost to get any of their likenesses considering how most of them aren't doing much these days the only thing is Thomas Wilson is pissed off about being "Biff'd" and Crispin Glover as well has no interest in continuing his role in the license I would say that a comprehensive BTTF line is a lost cause but most would be happy with just a Marty and Doc.

Also isn't Michael J. Fox in that movie too? What if they got to make a figure of him from that movie and not BTTF oh the irony. Anyways my point, if they could afford Arnold and Christian Bale they could afford Michael J. Fox, I thought he said in a recent interview he is open to giving out his likeness.

Michael J. Fox I know said somewhere recently he wouldn't mind his likeness being used to promote Parkinson's research and awareness but I didn't read anything about film licenses but who knows. In reality if he is warming up to it, a BTTF license wouldn't be too far behind but I wouldn't hold my breath.

To do Michael, they'd have to pay an additional so many million and then get his approval which takes longer, and really, who wants Mike from this movie, they aren't stupid.

I really think Michael J. Fox wouldn't be that expensive but I think they'd have to do something related to his foundation and even that would be a long shot at best. In all reality Mars Attacks was done in 1996 and BTTF 3 was done in 1990 you could kitbash a nice McFly from the head. I would love a Michael J. Fox from this movie but it ain't gonna happen.

I have no interest in the license but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that if the figures looked cool it'd interest me. Since HT is really a fan of Burton, I wonder if the new POTA figures can be too far off....I wouldn't mind a Thade or Attar

As stupid as it sounds I think a lot of actors don't allow their likeness for products because they feel like that would lessen them and the work they've done. Like having any type of "toy" of themselves would be seen as a joke or something.

Its also weird to think people have very lifelike scale reproductions of characters they played in their homes.

I mean imagine if you walked into someone's bedroom and saw yourself 12" tall in a detolf cabinet next to the guy from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. :lol

Maybe these actors are familiar with Robot Chicken and don't wanna see any type of crazy ish like that with a figure of themselves. :lol

Oh man is it Mars Attacks!? That would be pretty cool, I still think this is one of Burton's most underrated films.

I'd be okay with it. :lol

Phew! That's a relief! 'Coz I've been stalking you for a few weeks trying to get the nose 'just right'........:monkey3

If it is indeed Mars Attacks, Tom Jones had better be in the line-up.

That's my point the movie is a joke......... though I guess Tim Burton loves the guy he was on the Edward Scissorhands soundtrack.

But in all seriousness the reason why a lot of people are outraged is that HT could have gone another route and brought us a great license we've all been waiting for. While for some this is it, others like myself think they could have done better.

But if this is a labor of love and they(HT) really love this movie then more power to them.

As far as I'm concerned it just has to be Mars Attacks... all the evidence is overwhelming... cool!

Unless of course you are of the mind.... 'Wah.... I didn't get the licence I wanted, the world is unfair, I hate YOU!!!' (throws toys from pram... or Detolf, depending on age).

Well, I have a 12" figure from first time around, a few of the smaller figures (my wife still has the girl Martian on her desk at work), a 'Martian Ray gun in my desk at work and I even have a black T-shirt with the logo printed in 'puffy red' effect... so, yeah I do kind of like it.

That said, although I had it on VHS I still don't own it on DVD (soon to be rectified) and I admit this licence has caught me off guard. But when HT do a figure it can be hard to say no, unless it's from something you actually, actively dislike, and as I said I liked MA, so it's all good!

You know what the more I read post like this, the more I kinda like the idea of Mars Attacks, and only cause it would make everyone happy. I didn't even know there was a following for this movie, I thought there would be more FAIL or PASS comments but not really.
