this could have just been a part of the ROTJ luke with a poncho and helmet accessory. Well played HT, you are very good at milking LOL.

It's pretty outrageous that they made this a separate release. We still don't know if the helmet is removable. I'm actually hoping the helmet and poncho get pirated, will teach HT a lesson.

a DX release would have allowed HT to release an ungloved light up arm and the gloved light up arm that both sets will include.

a lesson? outrageous?

Have you not been following HT for like the last 2 years since you joined? They included two looks with "Jedi Luke", adding Endor would make three. You're lucky HT didn't make three different figures.

The only thing I'm shocked at is that HT offered this up so soon on top of Jedi Luke. I thought they'd save this for SDCC 2018. Must mean the Biker Scout and Speeder Bike is right around the corner.

Then you'll be really mad.

You're right, we should be grateful that a Luke with the cloak wasn't a separate release. They've adopted a 'build a figure' strategy for their releases.

yea, or at least build your own DX figure. Personally, I don't like it this way, but I can see why it makes sense for them and for collectors who may only really want one look over another. So, I am not upset or thinking Hot Toys is somehow evil for doing it this way even though I would have personally preferred something different. As for the Endor version, me getting this will depend on if there is a "removable" helmet look; If I have to build my own "DX figure" then I want to be able to maximize the different head sculpt into looks combining with the other Jedi figure beyond just the Endor gear.

Yea, I don't get the surprise reactions for this figure. I havent collected 3 3/4 figures in ages and as I recall they had a similar strateg.

I get price point is different and at said price point as a consumer we want one figure with all incarnations of looks etc. but the strategy has been around for ages. Beside if HT gave us a single figure with everything the price wouldn't be $230 and folks would complain about that.

The release doesn't bother me because I only need to show one look for Jedi Luke and it doesn't require multiple purchases. Pick one and move on....

Hey, I definitely didn't say they were evil! No one's forcing me to buy anything.

I'm not even mad at them, as I'm not really interested on Endor Luke. Just slightly cheesed off in case it ever affects a figure I do want :)

I do think at these prices every figure should come with pretty much all their accessories.

That's the biggest thing. If there was one release with 3 outfits and priced around $300-320 then people would complain that they didn't need all those accessories and they should have been separate releases to keep the individual costs down for those that didn't want all those looks and accessories so there's always 2 sides to this. For me personally I'm happy to not have it all in one release. I'd have to piece together extra parted out pieces anyway bringing the prices back in line with individual releases so that I could have full figures of each look.

Hey, I definitely didn't say they were evil!...
just to clarify, I in no way meant to imply that you in particular were saying that. My comment was meant to address the broad complaint about how "greedy" or "money grabbing" Hot Toys is for doing things this way. I was just pointing out while I don't prefer it the way they are doing it, I don't think I would classify their motives for doing so in pejorative ways.

I agree, I certainly would prefer to get the most accessories as possible for the price of these.

Looking at Farmboy Luke, the amount of accessories would have been pretty similar.

Exactly. How many looks and specific scenes did we get with that figure?

Farmboy
Poncho docking bay 94
floppy hat deleted scene
Falcon training helmet with remote
Death Star escape/ swing to freedom.

That was a packed release. This should have been the same.

Jabbas palace w cloak
Sail barge
Endor poncho
Final duel

Someone should add up the amount of accessories we got with that one and compare them.

My sentiments as well.

Three looks actually with Jedi Luke if you include the cloak. Adding Endor would have made four. Four different looks for one figure body seems a bit absurd to me. Even if they included two bodies/figures like Bespin Luke and made this a DX release, that would still essentially mean two different looks for each figure. Even for DX standards, that seems a bit hefty. Plus I'd imagine it would include a dio base for each of those looks (Jabba's Palace, Endor and DS). At that point, it does get into "just pick one already" territory to me and would warrant a second figure in my opinion.

Like you said though, just didn't expect it to be roughly at the same time.
