^^:lol Ive been wondering about how the MGS1 Snake would look with a Hot Toys sculpt. I agreed with Nova that the MGS4 young Snake with bandana would look good if they did something with the eye color. I swear he looks like hes about to go blind:dunno. In any event they will HAVE to include the Classic MGS1 pixel head as a swapable head. I would go crazy if that happened.

Haha Solidus thats great and I've argued for years that THAT is Solid Snake's actual appearance, glad someone is backing me up.

In all seriousness though this sculpt (Big Boss) is amazing. I just started playing Snake Eater again today for the first time since it was released (just got the HD collection) and now I REALLY want this figure! I remember why I fell in love with this one (MGS3). I think HT nailed it, I just hope they come out with a version in fatigues and no eye patch. If they don't, then they effed up by not including a second, two-eyed sculpt.

RE: MGS Snake sculpt: personally, I'd rather them just do the "definitive" Solid Snake face, the MGS2 version, and just give him shorter hair and a shave. Simple.

Oh yeah? If and when Hot Toys releases the pictures of that figure, I'm pretty sure that you're going to complain that it looks nothing like the MGS 1 face :lol.

:lol

I get his point though.HT choose the 3DS game look over the original game which is a big difference, not only the beard but there are other changes to his face as well that made him look a little younger.I really don't care about which look they go for,ill take any Big Boss figure HT make.

isit me or snake's costume is inaccurate? look closely at the red circle in the picture

this is how it looks like in the artwork. notice the straps that hold his armband?

but hot toy's figure looks like this

I still say the best head sculpt is that prototype that headplay put up that may have been stolen from hot toys. The final headplay sculpt isn't very good, and there's something a little off about the hot toys sculpt that I can't quite put my finger on.

That's what I've been thinking too, and in addition, that's why OSW removed headplay's original posts, because they were suspected of being stolen. Regardless though, the original prototype did look phenomenal, but headplay being "headplay" isn't really capable of making something of that quality - which is evident in his actual figure.

Without a doubt, the Hot Toys figure has the best looking sculpt of Big Boss. The "inaccuracies" (if you want to call them that) are a result from Snake's face being changed from MGS 3 to MGS 3DS.

The head-sculpt actually does look pretty awesome, regardless of the changes. It's just that, I've grown accustomed to Snake's original face from MGS 3, that it's stuck with me ever since.

I'm with you man. I'll get every single Big Boss figure, and MGS figure that Hot Toys releases (still undecided about The Boss though :lol)

I'm sure that they'll include a few more figures of Big Boss. Hopefully, they can release a plain face (without eye-patch) and an eye-patch sculpt together in a DX combo pack .

MGS 1 and MGS 2 Snake should look the same, besides the sneaking suit and length of the hair (like you said).

Can't wait for these to be released!!! LOL I'm in full MGS mode right now playing the game.....

I know it's greedy when others are waiting on their favorite figures to be announced but I want them to announce more NOW Hahaha like right now.

Also really enjoying the discussions you guys are having on the games, definitely learned some things I didn't know, or reminded me of, in this thread and the others.

Yeah so true. It's almost like a case of so close but so far, consider how long HT takes at times to release their figures. BUT at least we know they are coming and have pictures to look at.

I've been slowly (very slowly) playing through MGS3 HD...I say slowly because the cut scenes are so damn impressive that I usually won't save just so I can watch again LOL...the part where Snake links up with EVA, when she hands him his customized M1911A1... What a great scene! I like how giddy Snake gets over that piece, and the attention to detail (surprise, surprise...not like MGS games are known for good technical detail or anything lol) to the custom mods done to it. Those are all modifications either a high level pistol comp shooter or a CT team member would have in the "real world".

Just bored on a thursday night, and thought that scene was so cool.

I too am playing MGS3, on the Boss right now, using the Sneaking Suit of course :D

Kinda bummed though as i'm one plant away from two Trophies and it looks like it only appears at the start of Snake Eater

These figures are gonna be sweet, i'd love for ThreeA to do a Shagohad for a group display

@Jack I too thought about the gun EVA gives Snake, it appears HT used the previous gun despite the fact he doesn't have it when he gets access to the Sneaking Suit. I'm gonna post a pic to their FB page in the highy unlikely possiblity they'll switch them

Good shot. I'm glad the CQC Knife scabbard isn't plastic, terrible Medicom figures...

Is it me or does the cord wrap on the knife look weird? Like gaps in it.

Well it is the prototype. He also has that split on the side of his suit at the shoulder/neck.

Plissken, I see it as well. No biggie, like you said, it's so much better than the Medicom version.

That headsculpt really does look quite nice. It's a good representation of a "real-life" looking Naked Snake.

That could be explained in one of two ways.
First, the base color is silver and they dry-brushed the cord sculpt black but missed a few spots. No big deal as it's only the prototype and should be corrected by the final product.
Second, it's actually tiny black cord wrapped around the silver handle, unlikely but it would be pretty amazing to see them go to that amount of detail. :thud:

Great point Agent. I will do what I did to the Batman 89 figure, use waist hugger to avoid any contact with the pleather.

And I highly doubt its actually a cord wrapped handle. Even if it was, I would be worried about durability with the hands holding it and switching it out constantly.
