Speaking of sculpt, I would love a proper Snake Plissken sculpt looking like he does in your "I don't give a...." picture, or your avatar. So badass....honestly I've never liked any of the Snake Plissken sculpts that have come out, always some off about them. He's definitely one of my most beloved and admired characters from when I was younger to today. A proper 1/6 is long overdue.
And to do a good MGS movie, they need to first develop an anti-aging serum or time machine and grab Kurt Russell circa EFNY.

So what kind of suit does Snake wear exactly? Is there a name to it? I'm curious because if we can't find the tigerstripe or what not, at least a plain olive could work, like he starts off with in the Virtuous Mission.
Arghh! Don't even mention a Snake Plissken figure, I'd pay real good money for that! My Mcfarlane one has been on the rotating display stand in my dining room for years now!
I never even knew McF did a Plissken, looks awesome though. I think HT would pull off a pretty good Plissken. It's weird Kurt Russell hasn't had more figures done of his iconic characters.
In MGS3, Snake wore Vietnamese fatigues in the advisor or "John Wayne" pattern tiger stripe camo. Medicom got them perfect as far as pattern and pocket shape and layout, the downside being small size.
As far as doing plain olive Virtous Mission fatigues, if you want to be game accurate, standard US tropical fatigues (like what the Metal Boss figure, or HT Platoon figures came with) wouldn't be right. What he is wearing are simply the tiger stripe fatigues, in OD.
So get these:

And remove the lower two pockets on the shirt. The pants cargo pockets are a bit big, but they'll do. Otherwise, the Armoury Israeli Recon or Paratrooper OD fatigues are perfect, but again they are a bit too small/tight.
So yeah, that's my nerd analysis LOL I'm big into Special Operations during the US war in Vietnam so I know some about uniforms and gear from the period.
If one John Carpenter film needs a 1/6 figure it's definitely Snake Plissken. The headsculpts I've seen are pretty bad, like you said. I would definitely pick up a HT or a premium format.
This one ain't that bad tbh. Here's my Snake with MacReady
I've seen a lot of good Macs' but that might be the only good Plissken I've seen. I can't believe it has not been touched on by Hot Toys or at least Sideshow at this point.
Well you know Hot Toys. I'd pay good money for a Snake Plissken, but I guess that's possible only when they run out of Marvel and DC stuff to do.
Maybe after Iron Man 17 they will finish Robocop and start doing more non- superhero movie franchises.
