I actually tried it earlier and . . . I can't detach the top from the bottom. :gah: The helmet just won't come apart. It feels really fragile and I'm afraid that if I force it I'll crack the inside or something. It's a really tight fit.

The directions warn about damage to the head and paint.

So you recommend buying a second head even if you just going to display one version of the figure at a time?

I didn't mean to make some people crazy over me pic. I was just sharing my display with others. I buy the same figures sometimes when you have more than one option to display them. [That's if I really like the figurine.] Personally, I like displaying the figures together to keep Terminator with Terminator and Iron Man with Iron Man for example. Also, I don't think it looks bad displayed like that, because the figures are setup differently. For the "super extra expendable income"- I told myself that I was going all out this year on buying collectibles. But, I work really hard for this to happen. There is no free ride here.

Well, I guess it all comes down to it's just a matter of personal opinion.

And that's exactly it right there...

I am saying for me, it would drive me crazy to have two of the same characters in a display...your display looks great!, no disputing that...you don't mind it having the variations and it works for you...

I wasn't claiming you had "...expendable income" i was just saying that would be the only way i would ever buy a Sarah Connor figure at all...unless of course a Furlong Connor is made, then i would buy her to complete the set, make sense?...kind of confused myself and i typed it. haha

Anyway, i just used you pic as an example, i was not trying to single you out or anything, let alone make you think what you were doing was in anyway wrong.

It's like you said, a matter of personal opinion. :hi5:

Nothing wrong with it. This Hobby is about enjoying yourself. And if that's what makes you happy, more power to you. You aren't the only one who does it. Many plan on doing just that with the T1000. Some have order 3 or more just for that purpose. I know I plan on at least 4 variation.

Yeah sure I'm getting 3 of him and was half thinking of trying for a fourth and may yet if its still available when my finances recover from the initial onslaught! I love the film, love the character and theres just too many cool display options to have to have one instead of another. This could possibly be my favourite ever Hot Toys figure. I find myself loving the likeness more and more. In-hand pics are doing it great favours, it definitely seems like they changed things for the better since the prototype pics.

I ended up ordering two of them and two narrow TT. With the Donut head I can make 4 T1000 with this. I picked up two Police uniforms on eBay for $3.00 each and I already had a white t shirt. The poice shirts don't have badges or name plates, but I plan to use one under the Motor Cops jacket and the other one will be cover with bullet holes where the badge and name plate are suppose to be for the split head with the hook arms. Still needs a Duty Belt, but I'll wait till it comes out and can pick it up cheap then the prices now.

Me, Sean and A-dev are the real Terminator fans here. :lecture

No offense there Voorhees, but I guess no one can be called a real fan of any kind of franchise, movie, or stuff when the measure is how much stuff in how many quantities you got, you know?

It all comes down to personal importance and for me...the classic looks of the T-800 and the T-1000 are the most important ones.

Means for T-800: Galeria, Enrique´s place, cyberdyne and steel mill.
T-1000: Galeria, Pescadero, Motorbike Cop.
But that doesn´t mean that I need to buy 3, or 4 of those in order to keepém posed, therefor in order to be a bigger fan.

Plus: I can´t wait on any news regarding the Skynet Edition from T1, or a full score of T2.

And I have the German T1 German SE & JP UE, US T2 SE Laserdisc, T2 German UE DVD, US Extreme Edition DVD, Jp Extreme Edition Set and Skynet Edition BluRay/DVD Set + German 1-3 SE Digi-Pac and T4 T-600 Skull Edition DC

There are plenty of guys having much more, but that doesn´t mean that I, or any other dude is less of a fan.(I know this was probably fun, but still good to speak it out.)

Alright?

Yeah, kind of. Honestly I'd treat the biker helmet with regular head as a different head all together. If I only owned one but planned on swapping parts from time to time I'd definitely look into another head.

Everything else is a smooth process when it comes to taking off and putting on pieces. The arm blade and hook arms are simple, the hands are easy (you really don't need more pegs surprisingly) to switch, and the bullet wounds are just plain fun.

The belts, helmet and sunglasses are delicate though. They're prone to wear and tear eventually for people that can't decide on one specific look. The pants might be problematic too.

If I were you I'd just but another head (one for the helmet look) and maybe some belts that you could easily preloop, so you're just sliding the pants on. Other than that, you should be fine.

After having this guy in hand, I think I'll be gunning for a 4th. It may sound crazy but the figure is just that good. I think it would be totally worth it in the long run. Though I must say, I'm not really feeling the healing split head sculpt. It kind of sucks, especially in comparison to the regular and doughnut head. They should have included the FUBAR split head instead. Not only is it creepy as hell (it has that Thing vibe going for it) but it would have been more unique.

So hmm, maybe a 4th isn't needed. One can be regular and if I choose to give him hook arms and/or bullet wounds I can just easily attach them (wait until you guys see how fast and simple it is. Those parts really don't make for a whole new figure when it takes less than a 10 seconds to swap parts out). The second can be the motorcycle cop and the third can be the glitched Steel Mill and I can choose between the regular head and doughnut head and just swap them when ever I feel inclined.

The healing head looks really well done but one does wonder why they chose it over the fully split head. Its not different enough. I agree about the split head having a kind of John Carpenters The Thing vibe.

You'll think I'm insane (and maybe even a little g @ y!) but I'm actually interested in displaying an 'arrival' T-1000 inspired by a pic I saw here of the donut head on a naked True-type checking the handgun - I think it was Voorhees pic. Naked Arnie doesn't look half bad so I thought maybe I could pull off naked T-1000- ooohh I should not have said that!!!

Woah, woah, woah. That's taking it a little too far, don't you think? :rotfl

And having a naked T-800 AND T-1000 on your shelf, in your display room, where ever is REALLY fruity. Can you hear it a-dev? I think, yes, I think it is . . .

A glitched Steel Mill? You mean like with melted feet, black and yellow hands, etc?

No I mean "glitched" as in he's wearing the top part of his original uniform and the bottom half of his motorcycle imitation. You know, "galleria" (funny how NECA has made me coin that term) top with the motorcycle boots and pants from Pecadero.

I always assumed that was part of him bugging out. Instead of going into default mode "galleria" he had two different parts from the images he has picked up. Or it could have been that they wanted to show Robert Patrick's face for the climax of the film, but I digress.
