I would say "Yes.", But I only have this one and the "ALIENS" Alien Warrior, and out of the two, this one is by far superior.

Besides, this is the original. Cant go wrong with that.

I see. Congrats on having this one. Btw, does his legs have any articulation? From the looks of it, it looks like you can't move them sideways? :cuckoo:

The articulation is pretty limited with this one. His rubber exoskeleton body really hinders his movement in his legs and arms. So you cant really achieve a lot of the more iconic "bug like" poses that Cameron's Alien Warriors are known for. But in this ones defense, The Big Chap is never really seen in a lot of dynamic poses in the film, so I take that into account when posing him.

He has ball jointed shoulders, wrists and ankles. You can bend him at the torso, and can bend his elbows and knees, but they are all really hindered from the body. His legs do not spread very far apart either.

Here is a review with some good pics:

If he's truly never seen in a lot of dynamic poses in the film then it's fine by me. :) TFS that review. :1-1: He's also the latest Alien figure that had been made by HT IIRC right? :cuckoo: I'm surprise you can still get this one at a good price. Saw one for sale @ $290 locally. :monkey1

Be warned, the shine from these rubber aliens fades away very soon.. In a year or so, you're going to wish you never purchased one..

Threw out my Big Chap a few weeks ago, Dog Alien fell apart about a year ago.. Will be selling the AvP Drone soon just in case.

Really? Geez that's so unfortunate! :( So you already sold your Big Chap?

Threw out... seriously?

No, I just threw him out. One foot and both hand pegs were broken. Hand pegs were broken straight out of the box..
Mouth tendons ripped loooonnngg ago.

Rubber was slowly deteriorating, no shine..just a big grey blob..

I have a goal to collect every piece of A/P merchandise on the planet.. but I made an exception for expensive, rubber crap that becomes trash within at the most, a year after purchasing it.

It was really beyond repair.. I probably wouldn't have received even $10 for it on eBay..

Fair dos, it was your call. But I'm sure just the parts would have made you a pretty penny, even if just for a splatted ALIEN diorama base for a marine.
Luckily mine are all still in A1 condition, and my AvP drone has been on my shelf, in the open (not behind glass) since the day I got him over 5 years ago, and he gets reposed at least once a week.

My AvP Drone is the only one that has survived..

I noticed some small rips on him, though. Right above his tail, and around his stomach.
Mod Podge will hold him together longer though, I believe.. Also makes him look much more life-like.

Man what a piss off. I'd be spewing if that happened to mine.

I own the dog, blue warrior and big chap.

so far nothing to that extent has happened.

oh the arm and wrist peg on the dog broke but I was able to fix it

I just set and for get those figures coz of all the breakages that can happen.

And posing the blue warrior is just a pain in the arse.

the ball and socket joint idea was the worst thing HT has done imo

Contemplating adding my Aliens to my FS list. Not totally sure though. They just don't quite satisfy. I'm no obsessive with this franchise but I still could have done with a bit more accuracy - in the heads particularly. And of course the wobbly limbs and flaking rubber concerns. What to do.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that dude! :( So I shouldn't buy this version of Alien risking in deteriorating rubber? If so, what's the best version of HT Alien out there if I'm only planning to get one to represent "Alien" in my collection? :cuckoo:

I don't know what you're doing with your Alien figs - but you're doing it wrong. Maybe a humid climate?

No problems here. :dunno

Well, from my experience I've had no such problems. But the hardest wearing still seems to be the AvP version.

Good for you bro! :) So Jeff after reviewing almost all the HT Alien figures out there, what "Alien" figure you think is the best version HT made that I should get if I'm planning to get only 1? :cuckoo:

In terms of personal favourite, then it is the Big Chap, with the Dragon/dog following up a close second. But in terms of feeling solid and the one I have played with the most over the years then its the AvP, and I actually like its desigh (bone of contention for some I know) but I love the smooth head and its very robust.
