Overall, I'd say the first one with the brown leather jacket and clean portrait is the best looking of the two Connors on the shelf.

That is sure thing. I bought FB JC for HK416 rifle and base to go with clean version.

I like 'em both a lot...but V1 does have the edge.

Doesn't mean V1 FB doesn't have it's high points...

I've also taken the base and the gun from V2 and have them displayed with V1.

V2 is displayed holding the hydrobot...

They're both great figurs and I'm happy to have them both, I give a bit more to the original figure because that leather coat breaks up the visual nicely, where the FB costume is almost one color, especially viewed from a distance, and doesn't quite command the display presence of the first figure. If you're really into the character's portrayal in TS, they both rock, if you're really only interested in one figure, I'd go for the one that looks sharpest on the shelf.

Yeah I just want one of each character,for example i'm buying the DX joker ATM and only him altough I like the BR too.Concerning John Connor, my decision is made and I will buy the 1st version.The Brown leather jacket is what made me choose him.Thanks for inputs guys.

Enjoy him, I think you'll be very impressed with the paint work on the portrait and on Joker and Connor, the weathering on the clothes is quite impressive for a factory figure as well.

I have the FB and it was the obvious choice for me.
The jacket looks way better, there´s a hydrobot as an "accessory" and a sh**load of extras:
Functioning backpack, a pair of extra hands, fm radio with headset, original H&K rifle with tiniest details (be warned here, they tend to come off), grenade launcher and 9mm gun with pouch.
Magazines for the rifle, rounds for the grenade launcher and an awesome crushed T-600 base.
More stuff for theprice and more awesome accessories.

The V1 is much stronger. Better portrait of Bale, way better jacket. Just more iconic look of the character than the version 2, which just kind of felt thrown together and rehashed. The only thing v2 has on the original release is the hydrobot, which isn't enough to justify the $30-50 price increase between the two figures.

For some reason every time I see WOOKSTER HOT TOYS JOHN CONNOR SPEC pics I expect a thread containing a T2 Future General John or kid John. Happens every time for both of these Salvation threads. Then I see the MMS number or click on the thread and my excitement dwindles.

It's subconscious too because it happens in less than a second.

I'm aware of that, but the paintwork is stronger on the v1 imo. The painted on cuts look very toyish and kill any realism or likeness for me.

The BD head's blood paint app doesn't look good to me too, so i replaced it with an extra 1st version's head, looks much much better.

I know there's been some renewed interest in these great Hot Toys figures of John Connor again recently...and while the initial release still seems to generate more heat (hey, I really like it too)...I thought I'd throw out a couple of new shots of the just-as-cool-looking "Final Battle" version too...

The attention to detail and the fantastic work on his gear carry over to this one too...although I did give the base to the V1 version and swapped the guns....this is another great figure.

That's an awesome shot dude. And yea I did the same thing and I think so did everyone else with the FB base and guns. FB Connor just looks way more bad@$$ with the bigger gun. Not to mention it's more accurate to the movie.

Hmmm. I don't think it's that bad. If you have the FB Connor you should just find the M4A1 with M26 shotgun.
