Hmm, the middle pic looks nothing like Arnie, a nice sculpt but I just don't see Arnie there at all. The other two are also nice but they both look like they have the eyes too far apart.

The likeness was way off? Exaggerated maybe but its easily one of the best made Terminator 2 collectibles to date.

Agreed, the Arnie half looks great, it's really the handling of how the Endo is exposed on it that bothers me, if that part were like the LSB I'd probably have gotten the 1:1.

I love the way sideshow did the exposed endo parts on the 1:1 bust. Its probably one of the coolest terminator collectibles IMO.

I agree there MF, I'd prefer a few liberties as well. I only asked because I remember a few people mentioning the Predator heads being a little large, and some people said it was more screen accurate that way (the suit had to allow for the actors head etc). But I always thought since it was purposely shot to hide that then maybe accurate isnt always accurate if that makes sense... :)

I can't think of any product to try and be an accurrate depiction of BD T-800 that hasn't taken the liberty of giving it a more, here's how it would look if it really happened look instead of trying to be totally faithful to the puffed out prosthetic look.

If done right, the liberties really don't stand out like, man that looks nothing like the movie, which to me has been everything except the 1:1 bust, I look at the damage on that and it looks too far from the film look.

quick question: if sideshow gets the t800 before the month ends, when does viking playground, cornerstore comics, or alter ego get their shipment? do they get their hot toys figs from sideshow?

September or so...

*EDIT* I forgot to put j/k at the end!!

I believe Alter Ego does, not sure about the others. Most of the time, dealers get things after they start shipping out to their direct customers, so like maybe a week after Sideshow starts shipping for dealers to get their stock and then whatever ship time from there to customers. I'd say most people getting it from Sideshow supplied dealers could expect it to show up within 2 weeks of Sideshow starting to ship to its customers.

I dunno Sean, I think Sideshow got down the important details fine. Again its exaggerated some but overall they got the main areas of damage done well. I suppose you need to see it in person to see the details up close. The actual eye socket (endo) could have been much better.

ohh! i'd give my left nut for that bust, i have the 1:1 combat endoskull coming in a couple of weeks but this bust is frikkin expensive! :thud:

That does look incredible. Its the human side of the face I'm not convinced by on that one and the aforementioned eyes being too far apart IMO. I wonder will Hot Toys sculpt exposed teeth on their 1/6th like that SS bust.

I know, its doubled (a few times tripled) in price. I was lucky.

Its very rounded alright...

Also did he have the damage to his ear on screen?

Its not a detail i've noticed in the past but i've seen shots with damaged ear. So yes.

I think its the squint that sets it off. Maybe. The eyes (at some angles) do look a bit too far apart (in pics) but overall (looking at it in person) its amazing. Trust me, its another one of those "pics do this thing no justice" cases.

It just looks like way too much muscle tissue showing, especially along the top of his head, it looks like someone took a bunch of raw hamburger and stuffed it between skin and the Endo. While that might be a realistic visual, it just looks overdone to me. I prefer the look to keep someone close to the film makeup, more do making the proportions and things more realistic than adding excess material between his skin and Endo. There really wasn't a lot between the Endo and skin int he makeup.

I see what you're saying (really do) but keep in mind that this puppy only retailed for $499. If they went all out the price could/should have been $999 easily.

It wouldn't affect the price, if anything, it would have been less work on their part.
