Well, I do wear glasses. I've just been in school for so damn long--over 10 years of college and post-graduate education--that it was necessarily the focal point of much of my life. And now I do research for a living.
Also, regarding the idea of collecting being a lesser evil over drugs and whores, etc. The wife frequently uses that as a way to reinforce my behavior whenever I talk about cutting down, or getting out of collecting. As if, if I were to sell my Hot Toys figures, next thing you know I'll be shooting heroine
Seriously though, she knows I have an obsessive personality, so if it wasn't this, it would be something else. God only knows what. Probably model trains or collecting records or some other stupid thing.
