Aren't they doing a reboot without Alice?

Will be getting the figure. Well all the Alice figures. Part II was my favorite look.

Last I heard RE5 was a go given RE: Afterlife was the most successful film in the franchise. If it was dumbass FOX, I'd say it makes sense. But it isn't, so it wouldn't.

Just checked. RE5 is still in pre-production with Milla and Sienna still attached and slated for September 2012.

I think milla kind of carries the franchise. no matter how crappy her husband makes these movies, she is usually able to show at least some depth. More so than any of the other actors. And that has probably been a hell of a challenge since she was able to do basically anything with her superman powers for 2 of the movies.

I hope they kill off k-mart so they can stop calling a human being k-mart. And I hope they re-cast wesker. I want val kilmer. even as a fat guy.

And if they use leon eventually...I'd love to see a hot toys figure of him! he's my favorite character, regardless of how an actor may portray him.

Did you miss the two they made from the games?

The movies were never intended to follow the games, just be loosely inspired by them, so the whole character needs to be taken in stride. Nemesis turning at the end made sense given the "almost" relationship at the end of RE1. Plus, him turning on Umbrella gave the movie some more Nemesis badassery than it would've just having him get spanked by Alice.

True but I've never really understood the point of making a movie based on a video game or book if the filmakers arn't gonna stay close to the source material. One of the things that made the games so great was the creepy atmospheres but the movies had none of that. No sense of dread or nothing. I mean yeah it had zombies and a corrupt global corporation but that was just a small part of RE and in the end the movies just didn't feel like Resident Evil even if it just to be loosely inspired by the games. The Silent Hill movie despite not having many characters from the games (similar to the first RE movie), still felt like Silent Hill much of it due to the atmosphere of the film being so similar to the game. My biggest gripe about the RE movies (mainly the sequels) was the treatment of the game characters, like totally _____ing out Jill in favor of Alice or making Carlos some middle aged Israeli guy. I actually would have preferred they just not even put in any of the game characters if they're gonna change them as much as they did.

I believe Milla will be in the next one only in a limited fashion, as last I heard it takes place in the hours in the first film between when she was dragged away by the med-techs and then awoke (apparently a day or two later) to find the city in ruins. So it isn't a reboot, but it is not a continuation from part 4 either.

Maybe. Rumors change.

I felt the same about the X-Men movies initially. It took me a while to realize that they're like an "Elseworlds" story. My first experience with that was The Running Man. I remember buying King's novel and being so ____ing stoked after reading it, then seeing the movie and being all "WTF?! REALLY?!" When you take it with a grain of salt, it not only makes life a little less frustrating, but you start to recognize the little gems. :lol

Don't get me wrong, I have sorta a love/hate relation with the first movie. I hate the fact that it wasn't scary and didn't feel like the RE series I loved as well as the absence of game characters but on the other hand if I don't think of it as RE I can actually sit back and enjoy it and in the end I'm glad the first movie didn't have any game characters cause it would have ruined it for me. I'll also confess Afterlife is the only RE sequel I can watch without cringing everytime a game character shows up. I actually thought Chris and Claire were handled ok (for lack of a better word) for an RE movie and enjoyed the scenes with Wesker and the Executioner in Afterlife and I even liked the prison setting in the first half of the movie (reminded me a bit of the prison stage in RE5 Mercs) but in the end for me it still fails. The other 2 movies though no matter what I do I can't watch them even when I turn my mind off.

That was an April fools joke. Not real.

Allegedly part of the film's shoot location is going to be in Japan. If this true I wonder how that will play into the storyline. . . .

Lmao!!!

"The announcement, and some details come from Alice actress Milla Jovovich’s Twitter.

“no, its not called”begins”lol! it “began” 10 yrs ago! lol! i think its called RE: Retribution, but i have to ask paul 2 b sure.”, Milla tweets.

Twitter-speak aside, Milla has once again spilled the beans on the progression of the Resident Evil film series. Milla also mentions filming in Tokyo for the fifth film. The fourth film, Afterlife, borrowed heavily from the fifth Resident Evil game; we expect that to continue. Fan or not, these films will keep being released, and so will our thoughts on how different these films have become from the source material."

Yep.... :p Muahahahahaha

That's a weird place for it to be. Zing!

What, are you Elmer Fudd?

Be vewy, vewy qwiet.

I'm wooking at twitties!

The connotation wasn't titties since hers are too small to store anything in. I was thinking in another direction. I can spell the word out as it is surprisingly not banned, but I will refrain from doing so out of respect for the Darklord.
