Do a lot of collectors here collect for rarity? Or for investments? I see some that buy more than one figure for a character. Which is weird for me since I have no idea what to do with them lol. Having one of each is enough for me. Don't even get me started on those that leaves em in the box.

For me personally, I could care less about rarity or investment purposes. I simply collect them because I like them. That, and that they look so damn good on display :lol

I collect some figures mostly because I like the character, but some figures go rare and I gain more appreciation for the figure..... but I'd never buy a figure because of its rarity if I didnt like it or want it even if it wasnt.

I've only ever flipped 1 figure(the gun metal gray Iron Man)
I have plenty of rare figures but I'd never sell them, same goes for other collectibles too

:exactly: I buy them becauseI want them and they make me very happy! If they end up being rare or sought after it sometimes up my appreciation but I would never buy something solely because its rare or I could make money.

So updated list from hot toys has this and armored version coming before the mark 42.....oooh nice!!

Actually, spending money on any of this stuff is wasteful regardless of ones reasoning for doing so. I don't understand why certain peops think they are above others because they "don't buy these for investments". Who really cares what other peoples motivations are for participating in this hobby. As long as they get enjoyment out of it then that's all that matters. Hobbies by nature are a waste of resources but that's OK because they give us utility and enjoyment. Life wouldn't be very fun or exciting if all we did was buy land and real estate (which by the way is also not really a good investment these days with the crashes).

I sometimes buy an occasional extra figure to flip if it becomes sought after. And i don't care what anyone thinks about that, lol
It's become quite a skill working out in advance what will be rare on the secondary market and what will not.
Up till now, Thor has not been a good bet, haha.
But Captain America can pay off once it sells out.

That's true, I would normally buy a movie promo because I know it will sell out fast, but I usually end up keeping it

Not sure since I haven't been collecting since the beginning but that sounds right I guess. I was able to flip my BD Mk7 for 2 figures, so thats a win in my book :yess:

Lol, exactly. Course, if I had THAT kind of money, I would probably end up owning almost every HT made under the sun, and then some, housed of course in some gigantic castle :lol
