I've seen BR at least 100 times, and the cape seems to lay wider toward his feet. The stock cape can pull that off easily.

My enthusiasm rose again for this figure as I looked at him before going to work today. It sure has been up and down but I think it is now unlikely that I would sell him. I just need to replace my silver magnets with black ones.
Pic taken last night, need to repair 2 gauntlet spikes.

That's an awesome picture, one of the nicer one I have seen. Also really like how he holds the fabric with his right hand, very natural

Sorry for the big photo dunno but I wanted to share some more custom glider pics... Finally figured out how to attach the glider and I'm in the process of painting and attaching the actual black fabric. Enjoy! I know it's the dx09 in the pics, guys, but this glider was made for the Returns Bats, of course, I just have yet to pick mine up is all.. more or less finished product! Hope you guys have enjoyed seeing the progress.

My DX09 cape went into the spare parts box and is now creased to all hell, probably even less usable than it was originally.
Thanks. I'm sure you read that I was having trouble with it. The cape doesn't seem to have the same tailored-in folds that your DX09 cape has and as a result it needs assistance from strategically placed magnets - which in itself isn't easy to figure out. In the end I wasn't happy with the museum-pose look because even when I had the front looking right it would be sticking out awkwardly on the back. However, having looked at a few screengrabs I found more than a few shots where his cape was running across his arms and back which IMO seems to suit best with your cape. It also happens to show off more of the suit and reveal his belt and gauntlets and so on. It was enough to persuade me to keep the figure after my initial frustration.
But if I were to have any recommendations about further capes you may do it would be to bring back those tailored folds if possible. Those made the DX09 cape effortless, no matter what pose, the cape would find a natural way to sit all by itself without me even doing anything.

Question about the movie glider though - I had thought the glider was his cape which becomes taut. Watching the clip of the scene on youtube though it looks like his cape drops off at the back so maybe I was wrong. But then when he lands near the Batmobile doesn't he have his cape again?
edit - found a clip of his landing, yes he does have his cape again. The cape and the glider are intended as one and the same. So what I'm saying is I think the material of the glider should still be originating out from under his cowl piece...

Fair enough. I was trying to think of how you could do it to look like it's his cape. All I could think is you'd have to have a loose ''foreskin'' (
) in that area of the glider which would have a hole though it for the cowl to go over it and the neck to be able to plug in. But you're making it, I have no idea if that would be plausible in practice.

Here's a set of pics DiFabio posted a ways back...You can clearly see a the bar of the glider apparatus behind the model's head/shoulder area. I simply decided to model the final design after this. It's obvious the glider can't possibly be his cape in reality so I just had to go with what wad most feasible that still looks good.

Yeah what you're saying is probably how I would have done it. Only issue is, as you said before, in the scene itself the cape you see coming from under the cowl as he turns around is his normal cape, just draped over the glider. Then when he jumps down and is flying/landing, his regular cape is gone. A pretty silly continuity issue in the film that I'm just not concerned about reconciling for the custom.Fair enough. One more day til Sideshow finally gets their Batman 2-packs in stock and while I'd love to say the time has flew by for me, it really hasn't
I know I prob won't receive it til next week since they said it takes about 5 business days to ship but still, tomorrow is one of the last milestone dates on my Calendar before it reaches my hands since this line was announced so many years ago
