So, I met this guy who made me a really cool 1/6 scale Penguin figure because I've pretty much given up hope that HT will release one in the next few years. Check it out - I haven't done much futzing on him, but I think it turned out pretty well. Hope you guys like it.

YES PLEASE! Maybe one 2016 and the other in 2017. I really,really want those! But...

- Civil War ( 17 figures in 1/6 from AOU, CW will get the same treatment)
- BvS and Suicide Squad
- Star Wars OT and Episode 7
- And the usual IM3 armors...

HT calendar is totally booked for the rest of this year and the next one!

I have faith that HT can squeeze 2 spots for Vito and Michelle in the future!

I don't even think they'd be that popular here. I think they'd sell as well as Maria Hill or Quicksilver. Burton Batman is not a hot brand anymore. People are looking ahead and Catwoman and Penguin are mostly for people with nostalgia or die hard fans. I'd buy it, but I think most people would scoff at the price and pass because they have so many other things on pre-order (Star Wars, Marvel, DCU). Honestly it wouldn't really make sense for them to make those figures right now. Maybe in 5 years things will have cooled off a little

No, he doesn't do a BR catwoman, but he does lots of '66 figures (Romero joker, riddler, penguin, Neymar catwoman, egghead, archer, mr. freeze, etc.).

The popular theory is that Howard Chan just likes Johnny Depp.

But to be honest, most of HT's business strategy often seems unfathomable in terms of their treatment of classic movies.

That's the problem with people just guessing, if they don't have any idea about how the business side and licensing side actually works. If you look at a lot of the Depp figures they come from Tim Burton films. Both Burton and Depp often take extremely low licensing deals (or even waive their fees ) in terms of money, or are content taking a percentage of profit (not sales, but profit) that way ther is more press and awareness of their properties at a lower cost. They are both famous for being very cool to work with on merch deals.

For something like the Newest Ichobod Crane figure- hot toys had to pay no licensing fee, and actually had essentially no costs to produce, as the burton people pre bought the min order required to break even on production to use at the show they had (can't recall the name off top of my head but it was the something like the art of Tim burton or something) meaning any figures hot toys sold after where 100% profit margin. A zero cost product. And a few of the other figures they have done over the years with Depp and Burton have had other similar (though not to this extant) deals that make them very low risk for the company.

With a figure like bttf, those are low cost licensing deals compared to DC and Marvel, and are also getting free press this year due to news coverage and other products. 2015 being the future year in the film. And Nike releasing the first commercially available nike mag shoe this year, and other things like that.

There's always a reason behind why they do things. We may not always be aware of it, but it doesn't mean there isn't one. It takes years of work to gets license and make a proto and then a production figure. They don't just do it out of the blue.

Don't think so, takes 40 days to accrue. I think it's 5%. So it would be $11 on Batman. They also sometimes give out some free points around Halloween for their spooktacular event.
