I've only seen Takara's on pics, but from what I can see, I think HT wins by a long shot.

I won both and agree with Magnuz, the HT is better in every category. The ankles are a bit loose yes, but I can still pose him without a stand without him falling over, you just have to balance him out.
Not saying that the Takara is bad though, I still like him, especially waering the harness, but HT easily beats him.

I've owned both, and while the Takara Batman was the top Batman Begins 1/6 figure a couple years ago, now HT's Batman has taken that title.

The only aspect of Takara's figure that beats out HT's is the ankle articulation.

I agree in this comparison. I own both as well and it was THE 1/6th BB figure to own back then.

But also, the TAKARA is very much lighter compared to the HT version plus good ankle articulation giving a character with good balance. I remember picking up the box for the TAKARA for the first time and thought it was empty!

I think the reason my HT falls over so often (I used to call it "base jumping" :p) is because of the extra weight it has.

Which one is better the Takara Batman or the Hot Toys DKB? In your opinion? Thanks.

Magnuz is right, the HT version comes out superior, or at worst, equal, to the Takara on everything except accessories.

* Takara's accessories are as good as HT's and there's a whole bunch more of them. Takara wins.
* The sculpt, body proportions and articulation of the suit is better on HT (Takara's articulation is not quite as extensive and the proportions can look a little feminine).
* The ankles on HT are weak, the shoes/ankles on Takara look hideous - it's a tie.
* Neither unmasked head sculpt is dead-on for Bale, but HT's paint and skin texture make for a far more realistic result, HT wins.
* Takara's cape flows more naturally but is see-through. HT's cape is a bit more difficult to get sitting right, but doesn't allow light to show from behind. Tie
* HT's masked sculpt is dead-on, with great paint and highly realistic eyes/skin texture. Takara's paint is not as realistic, and the cowl is not movie accurate since the head and neck are sculpted separately to provide articulation the real suit wouldn't even have. HT wins.

Do you even have either figure to make that judgement?

Why bother. ;)

It sounds like a football discussion, trying to make somebody like the other team when they are blindly in love with the one they have always followed.

Or trying to make a Microsoft user love Apple. Or NVIDIA vs ATi debates, Intel vs AMD and so on.

Hows the dust in that display after 1 - 2 weeks, still immaculate?

So guys, would compressed air be the way to keep dust off Bats?
I've got two in box that I'm not sure if I want to take out just yet.

thinking of selling one?

Sorry duder,

I'm keeping one to display by himself and the other to go with my Tumbler...if it ever comes out. LOL. Keep an eye on the For Sale thread. I've seen him pop up here and there for a reasonable price. The guys here are certainly more merciful than the turds on evil-bay.

I've never heard of this for sale thread....
I am only like a month old in freak years. And yeah those guys on evil-bay are turds, big time :lol ........... :monkey2

Yes, compressed air will work. Just don't blast it 1cm away from the suit and test the can before you spray. They are quite powerful even 7 inches away. As sometimes at certain angles the spray shoots out the frosted liquid if you have it side on or something.

You should have access to the for sale thread.
Use the drop-down box at the bottom of the page that says Forum Jump. Go to Commerce.
There's a thread that says For Sale/Trade.
