HT’s belt color is very close to 1989 movie accurate. It was never gold like some think. It was always a very dark, mustard yellow with a slight metallic look to it in certain lighting. But full on gold like some of the kiddie toys? Nope.

Telling you guys if you’re okay paying in full up front Collectorzown is a great option. The price shows higher but it factors in tax and shipping. Plus there’s an 18% discount (LETSGETNUTS) that brings the price down. My out the door price for the deluxe is like $330.

BBTS says this month too. ***t is this gonna be like their Predator figure where it gets charged and shipped to me before I get to see in-hand pics that show it's been half-assed???
Let’s hope not. I really want this figure to be good.

Got my confirmation as well. Longest Pre-order I’ve ever had. Made sure my credit card was updated since the old one is outdated.

Based on their latest prototype they showed maybe less than a year ago, I have little hope that it's going to have been worth the wait or the price.

making you jump through hoops during their live streams to do it I believe. Though, you still get the occasional $5 for RSVPing for one of their events.

I'm talking about the 5% cash back on purchases. It gets added to your account automatically, so no jumping through hoops.

when was the last time?
Like Buffinator mentioned, we got the free $5 for the holiday special. I thought we'd get something for that other event they had recently about Sideshow Firsts or something like that but it was all livestreams and product giveaways on the facebook group.

Yes, the standard rewards are still there that you get with every purchase. I'm referring to the free rewards that sideshow sometimes gives out during their events. They usually involve participating in a live stream and/or some sort of game to try to get a few points or maybe a free product.

Re-watching '89 in honour of this figure. Basinger back then ... :thud:

I've warmed up to this movie again. I found it unwatchable for a while but it's just so innocent and committed relative to most contemporary entertainment.

I still find it difficult to watch all the way through but... I also still find it to have the best Batman designs so far put on film.
Yeah, I'm early in the film and will likely skip over some parts, but it's a flawed albeit beautiful artefact of a bygone era. Gotham looks just amazing.

Interesting hearing these takes on re-watchability, though not uncommon. I can watch it all the way through and still enjoy pretty much the entire thing. I find Returns is the one that I'm sort of iffy on with some parts. Though, they had Returns playing at a local theater during the Holidays and it was really cool to watch on the big screen as I never did. Just caught it on VHS whenever it was available for rent.

I feel like that about all the movies I love.

All the Batman movies, doesn’t matter if it’s Burton, Schumacher or Nolan have zero rewatch value for me. I’ve seen all the behind the scenes, all the trivia, all the commentary. I know all the mistakes, everything. I can quote them verbatim, even Batman and Robin. This happened with Terminator, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings too. You can only watch the same thing so many times. I watched The Two Towers three months ago in theaters and damn, I don’t even have ADD and it was a chore to get to Helms Deep.

Batman 1989 is pure nostalgia for me. Once I got “taste” for movies, yeah, sure it didn’t hold up cinematically. It looks so cheap and dated, like Return of the Jedi or a lot of the lesser movies of the 80s. The effects are dated, the script sucks, we’ve all talked about it. It’s got style though. I think of all the Batman movies, I like the aesthetic of the Burton ones the best. The suit designs, Gotham, Batman’s arsenal, the Batmobile, are all aspects that I love, stylistically. It’s the perfect balance between form and function, practically and style.

I used to hate sequels like Batman Returns and RoboCop 2. I mean hate them. I thought Batman Returns was god awful and just plain weird. Then I got older, watched them again and grew quite fond of it. I don’t know.

There is so much “content” out there now that it’s kind of disgusting. When I was a kid, there were only so many movies/tv shows. Now, we have like a dozen Batman universes to choose from. Star Wars and Marvel is even worse.
