Got my Connor, very displeased. First Hot Toys figure thats going back.

All the velcro is unglued on one side, the strap on the rifle isn't long enough to go over his shoulder, and the magazine pouches for the front don't even have a snap or velcro or anything, they just loop under itself and can't support the weight of the magazine being in it.

Really unhappy, the sculpt is killer, the accessories are crap.

I added a dab of Loctite on the back of all the velcro fasteners. It's lame the magazine pouches have a small metal button that only fastens by tucking it underneath the webbing on the back of the pouch and doesn't stay on. I'm probably going to cut some small strips of velcro and glue them on so the magazine pouches will stay fastened. Other than those minor fixes it is an exceptional figure.

I wouldn't return him, but I can agree that some of this figure isn't the best stuff and a bit of a let down for HT's quality and price range.

Mainly, the "magic tape". HT uses the ^^^^tiest velcro on the planet, and I don't get it, it has NO grip whatsoever and on Connor, it's used heavily. Every pouch latch has velcro on it to seal in the item and even without touching them it wants to come away from time to time.

For stuff like magazine pouches and all, Hot Toys really should take a page from Sideshow's book and use magnets, the magnetic latch system Sideshow uses works great.

The other area where the velcro hurts is his wrist wrapping for his knife, it's 2 velcro attach straps wrapping it, but they are just long enough to wrap around and touch, so they want to pull even if you get them to stick.

I was turned off to HT using velcro with the Joker's vest on the first Joker, which HT heard complaints on and switched to snaps for the DX, Dutch's vest closes by to patches of velcro which barely hold together, and now this Connor is another figure that's really making me dislike their use of it. Either they need to get stronger stuff or find alternate methods like snaps and magnets.

Connor's got the makings of a 9/10 figure, but I'd say the fact that poor working veclro is a key element in 80% of his tactic gear really drops him to around a 7-7.5/10. He's a beautiful figure and the enjoyment is semi taken away because of the veclro needing readjustment, particularly if you're going to take photos that show him, lining up a perfect shot and then realizing a straps flopping around foolishly is annoying.

I agree he looks incredible but it just kills me when I can't pose him even a little without 5 or 6 things falling off. Maybe I'm being drastic about sending him back because i'm frustrated but I dunno, I'm really let down.

Maul said it perfectly, he's got the makings of a great figure but all the accessories on mine are botched and it's a real pain in the butt. His right hand is also terrible for holding any gun, let alone the rifle. Is too relaxed and the index finger isn't straight enough so it pushes the gun out of his hand.

Wow i am shocked, this is the first i've heard of his gear falling off all over, i mean i know the "magic tape is pure ^^^^!!! but i thought it wwas at least decent enough to keep the gear on.

well when i get home tonight i will see for my self i guess.....

one thing i did notice on mine that bugged me was the bottom neck collar is way shorter then the top and it doesn't go through the loop and come out the other side, it barely makes it through the loop, but the top one is way too long and it goes all the way through the loop and then some......if that makes any sense. :D

Same here with the collar. There are magazine pouches that don't even have magic tape, no real attachment at all, you just loop them around. Really subpar.

Well as cheap as the setup seems, I have no issues with pouches staying on in the basic way HT designed, it's really just any use of the "magic tape" that bothers me with this figure, but it is pretty annoying.

That, and the coat is not super limiting, but trying to get him into a gun firing pose that doesn't look toyish is challenging and there's really about one that works.

The portrait came out really nice, it's hard to distinguish it from just shadows, but they did a nice, blended dirtying on his cheeks that looks great. The chin strap is rather interesting, much like real hair it varies with lighting, the more lit it is the less it shows up, and the more in shadow the darker.

I want to keep him and like him but I can't. The front two magazine pouches without the tape don't stay on at all and the hand just does not hold the rifle anything close to the right way. Can't accept that, definately not a figure for perfectionists. Shame, like I said, he looks great but not really posable without major problems for me. This ones going back.

Replacing won't help much, it's just a half-assed way the harness gear was assembled, corner cutting or what, I don't know, but I've seen better from Hot Toys. Outside of the harness he's pretty good.

Damn now all i wanna do is go hiome and get the gear on to see if i have any issues......30 mins to go :banghead

I can't understand that your gear falls down. You just have to use the "magic-tape" right. Just pressing it together wont work, you have to slide the two ends up and down. For me it works really well and my gears doesn't fall down. The same goes with the amo on the front side of him. the slap of those little bags have to go inside a small area in the back of those little bags and voila, it stays well and you can pose it how you want it.

You just need to analyse how you can connect those pieces at him. Take your time and don't do this in rush...

No there is no magic tape on what I'm talking about. The two front pouches have no velcro. They wrap around the harness and then tuck under a strap on the back of the pouch. Nothing holds it in place so when you add the weight of the magazine, friction alone won't hold it on the belt. You'd have to glue it and then it'd be stuck on. Not something I want to do.

The magic tape works where it is, except that some of it came unglued on one side on my rear pouch and knife holster.

The knife thing that attaches the scabbard to the cloth arm holder is also broken due to very cheap and poor contruction of the plastic hinge joint.

The sidearm holster wouldn't go into the cloth holder they rigged up with out cutting it, again due to that wierd plastic hinge joint. And the hand just is not the proper shape to hold a rifle.

Do a search of DID pistol hands and rifle hands and you'll see the differance I mean, Connor has pistol holding hands, the index finger wont fit over the trigger so it rests outside the guard in a ready posistion, exept that pushes the gun out of his hand so it looks like he's about to let go of, or drop the gun.

Finally the strap on the gun isn't long enough to fit over his shoulder and under his arm properly. It'll only fit over one arm which isn't how you use a shoulder strap on a rifle unless its just slung.

Magic tape?
Mine didn't come w/ any...unless I'm not looking in the right place:banghead.
So far all my velcro seems to be holding(KNOCK ON WOOD).
It's not like I'm going to be changing out clips or undressing him at all.
I'll just pose him w/ my other figures :D
