And Sideshow could benefit from selling it's use, they went through all the work, and the one line that would truly use it is dead and there's no telling if/when Star Wars might ever use it and not likely the one character Indy could use it for will see the light of day.

I think it'd be cool to have a young J/C for both NECAs 7" and a hypothetical new Hot Toys line. He just seems to be a glaring omission from any T2 line made so far - he's a main character in an iconic film. Of course he'd be less popular than a T-800 or T-1000 but surely not so massively unpopular that'd it'd doom the company that takes the risk to bankruptcy. Stood behind the T-800 you'd be able to replicate numerous publicity stills and shots from the film. Great for a movie merchandise collector.

While it's not painted to NECA standards, I actually still have the original John Connor from the old Kenner T2 line. It was a very hard to find figure back in the day and my parents tracked one down for me and I've never let it go, I also still have one T-800 figure from that line for nostalgia. I even have John's motorcycle, so at least I have something to go with the NECA figures, should be good scale, but it would be cool if NECA did one.

As far as HT doing a T2 line, my main goals to get from that would be a BD T-800, full on like the end of the film too, not the mid-way look from cyberdyne, and a new standard T-800, mainly for the clothes, SSC's clothes are too weird and I missed the boat with the Saturday Toys upgrade.

Hot Toys should be able to use the Hobbit body as they please. They did co-develop it.

You would think if HT wanted to use it, given their friendship, SSC would allow it, but I do think control is in Sideshow's hands so they have to give them access to the production molds or whatever to make them.

might have been mentioned here before, but connor actually uses the HK416 from what i can see in clips and pics so far... would be really cool if HT made that instead of recycling the usual M4. glad they made the reflex scope though.

soldier story is making a HK416... i'm looking forward to doing a swap

Yeah I pointed this out already. If true that's F'n lame as hell.

you beat me to it then. we could be the only 2 people here that watched that movie though, so maybe that's what mcg is counting on - that no one saw screamers. or maybe lame minds just think alike.

You getting the NECA figures? I believe they have surpassed the McFarlane ones. Not that I'll be relegating the McFarlanes to the bottom of the wardrobe! All my figs will be displayed together proudly.

It's a cool-looking figure and you gotta have a John Connor in your collection, so I'm keeping my order. But I gotta say... not really a fan of Bale's Connor and how he came off in the film.

Thanks Vader. Now that I've seen the movie, I'm still quite eager to get this. I thought Bale did a great job, I really like the gear and all, I think I'll have a lot of fun owning this figure.

By Christian's own admission he didn't seem to want a huge part which the Marcus Wright character is since the Terminator fan-faves have always seemed to be the cyborgs rather than the humans. So basically as long as he was satisfied with the story of his character John Connor which was thanks to Jonathan Nolan's writing he was would be happy to play the guy. So all in all he seemed pleased to play it more low-key throughout the film despite the character being viewed as mankind's new savior by so many.

We also gotta take in a few other factors of why his character was more shadowed over throughout some of the film, aside from the fascination of cyborg characters with the whole "Is it human, could it still be human?Will he turn over to the machine or can his free will be strong?'' that Marcus carries in his vein of the story, keep in mind that John Connor is not accepted by all as their personal savior (heh), he's got his own bosses to listen to in this chapter of the franchise one's who have all the experience and who if you pay close attention had that whole mentality of sacrificing human lives would be worth the cost of winning the war which while rational to a degree also deters from the ability for their human numbers to grow, birth new people and Resistance soldiers and just plain survive as a species in their war. The 'older guard' of the Human Resistance were thinking like Machines as Connor pointed out and for a few big moments of the film John Connor was also being influenced by it and was losing his heart and faith in surviving as his mother advised to guard and follow in her tapes.

The figure is looking good.

I will get it because:

1. I liked Bale's Connor. I hope his story arc is expanded for the next film. Bale > Dekker > Stahl > Furlong imo (not counting the first appearance John because he was only in one scene).
2. I have yet to own a figure with an accurate Bale sculpt and from the new pics it's looking better and better.
3. That outfit and gear are cool. I would also like to have the other outfit he wore in the film. Marcus got a second outfit, why can't John?
4. I'm essentially collecting the entire HT TS series, even the T-700.

After seeing the film I want a 1/6 Moto-Terminator that John can mount.

Well, I believe John's one outfit vs Marcus' 2 because essentially Marcus' second is just different jacket and head, with Connor, his whole arsenal and gear is different for the second outfit, so a second figure could be done. Will HT even do it, who knows. I like the outfit and gear we're getting over the other one though so I'm glad for that, but i would buy a second Connor if they made the other gear.

After seeing the movie, I'm only really interested in the T-600 if it has some torn away skin and all, the raw Endo didn't do much for me. Especially since the only T:S figures I have on order now are Connor and Marcus, they had more screen time fighting the T-800 than the T-600 and I've already got that endo.
