I can't believe people actually thought AOTC Padme would make a more interesting looking figure than this...

Hot Toys probably not willing to dedicate the resources required to make that elaborate of a costume for the Padme character unless the easier and more mainstream look for her proves to be a hot selling figure.

No danger of that happening unless they improve on what's being shown atm. However, what you said makes a lot of sense, I never thought of it that way.

The optimist in me says HT goes for the easy version first to gain cash to fund the higher upfront costs of this more complex version......can spin it either way.

I always thought the outfit was tighter fitting than this ? I guess they still have time to improve it.

It was, you literally could see all of her musculature in it and when she was cold you could tell... like you can in that pic there. The figure they made that outfit baggy, I had to wonder if that was a Disney demand to de sexualize their new princess....

I still wonder if fictionally, we are supposed to believe that Episode 1 Padme's headdresses actually contained her hair or not?

Hello everyone...

It is not known whether this figure will be released in the near future? :impatient:

Need AOTC Anakin to pair up with Padme, he was ambiguously teased in some of Count Dooku's promotional pics, even though the image was extremely blurred.

When picture of this costume first stared appearing back in the day, it was so weird and shocking, so much of the imagery being released before the film was other worldly, in the best sense. TPM had so much going for it, until the film hit theatres that is. Still breaks my heart all these years later.

I honestly dont believe hot toys would ever put that much production effort into a figure. The sheer amount of all the correct sewing and such, the correct fur versus material and embroidery, I feel as if theyd never attempt it. It's all about how quick and on the cheap they can produce something and it still look passable as the character and how fast they can get it to the market within the level of interest window when they first show something. As much as I want a padme figure if im I'm honest with myself I'm still waiting for them to cancel the figure over all.

I doubt they'll do the TPM dress as well, but Hasbro did a barbie doll version of the dress and it isn't half bad for a mass produced barbie doll dress. It can be done. There are a lot of elaborate costume Hot Toys has done so far, they just don't seem as elaborate because they're soldier/warrior type costumes. I imagine a dress may be less involved than a million moving piece Iron Man, but ol' Padme can't compete with Iron Man.
