What are the chances of us hot toys making his look from the end of the film? That's the only one I'd want as it looks amazing

How do you know that you don’t already have one??

Does anyone have The Steel aka Colossus figure by Toys Era? If so is it worth hunting down or no? I normally wouldn’t consider an unofficial figure but I sort of doubt he’ll be officially made.

Probably with any of the Fox Marvel films is Marvel doesn't want to produce (or possibly won't allow) any merchandise specific to the films to be released as they don't want to share the merchandising rights with Fox.

That's why we almost never get any merchandise specific to these films except an occasional Wolverine or Deadpool figure.

There will be Marvel Legends or Funko Pop figures to coincide with the releases, but never based on the movie looks (just the comic looks).

Has nothing to do with marvel not wanting it and everything to do with how fox does business. It’s a likeness issue that fox doesn’t obtain. Marvel has no control over that.

Best evidence and proof of that is that hot toys acquired the film licenses to produce product. Marvel only gets to sign off or profit from whole film license and not individual actor/characters so if marvel signed off to allow licenseing of the film for one character then it’s signed off on all. Fox does not, or did not, obtain individual actor likeness rights meaning any licensor had to acquire them individually from each actor involved and that’s additional time and money costs that make doing some characters (instead of ones they don’t have to bother with that on) financially unreasonable.

It’s not that marvel doesn’t want merchandise. It’s simple economics. Why pay licensing fees to fox and marvel and each actor and cover the additional man hours and work for approvals from three sources when you can just pay for marbles comic likeness rights?

They'll do another run I'm sure now with DP2 out.

That's interesting and makes sense. I guess I had it wrong (based on what I've heard about how the rights and likenesses go).

Thanks for the info!

I would greatly enjoy a Vanisher figure. Thank you Hot Toys.
I thought it would be funny if HT included the empty harness with Deadpool. But some here claim that even characters played by actors without the actors' likeness have to be approved by the actors (putting aside the extensive history of Medicom getting lots of licenses for Kubricks because likeness approval wasn't needed). So I guess Brad Pitt would need to approve that.

No worries. There’s all kinds of story’s about the fox and marvel stuff out. Even larger sites have opinion pieces that sound like factual reporting that make it seem like marvel is actively suppressing all X-men/ff stuff. But it’s just not the case.

I didn’t think they would, but I just saw that OSK has Lady Katana/Lady Deadpool up for preorder again, so it looks like they are doing another run of that figure. So who knows.

Still waiting for the Mystique I preordered though...

Just found this comparison on BoxOfficeMojo. DP1 really nailed it with a budget of $58M ! Damn.

HT needs to do a Cable based on these numbers alone :lol (yes I know Box Office doesn't dictate what HT releases)

Fox messed up bad releasing it right in between Infinity War and Solo.
IMO, the ppl seeing Solo will not be affected by the ones seeing DP2.
Infinity War maybe a bit seeing as they are both Marvel superhero flicks.
But yeah with so many HT awesome must get figures coming out, it's quite a dilemma.
Not enough cash/ room but so many goodies to get.
