I love the look at everything it comes with. But um..............Kinda hurts that they make the same exact figure pretty much,(version 1)now heres an upgraded 1. Double Dipping much? lol im happy with all the pics and excited but damn i bet this thing will cost at least $250. I mite have to pass. double dipping wont work on me, no promises :)

I don't see how this is even an issue, we are recieving a new "Cop Joker" that happens to come with V1 upgrades. I could understand people being upset if this set came out at around $250+ but at $180 its only really about $20-$30 above their normal retail price.

We also get an amazing sculpt with moving eyes, i'd figure that alone has to be worth $20-$30. :)

Paint yes, sculpt no.

Here's a quick highlight of what I'm talking with on the mouth. First the clean shots.

Now the highlight version.

Note, on the BR sculpt, his upper lip is sculpted pretty much in a straight light accorss his face right into the start of the scar on the left side. On the new sculpt, his lip curves upward into the corned of his mouth and a wrinkle from that point runs into the scar.

I realize this may seem REALLY anal, but I get into image analysis and stuff and it's fun, and I'm really excited about this portrait. Plust trying to see if it is the BR redux or not is allowing me to see and appreciate the subtle differences I may not have picked up on right away otherwise.

I definitely see what you're saying. The sculpt seems to have been tweaked. There are also fewer wrinkles on the bottom right side of his mouth I think. I don't think it's a brand new sculpt, but I love it.

i dont know where youre seeing red. the liner of heath's coat was "burnt orange" Hot toys shouldn't be going for "the way it looks in one scene." even though the color never changes throughout the entire movie. the coat is weathered which gives the liner that dark, musty, nasty coloring around the tails and on the edges of the liner. this can be accomplished with Fuller's Earth. HT should be going for accuracy. the coat's true liner is burnt orange, not blazing red.

*in the above pic you can see the edge of the liner is very dirty and weathered, giving it that dark dark dark color. and with the lighting in the mob meeting it makes it look even more dark. but if you look deeper into the liner you see the true color. which is shown in the below pic

this is the same idea behind HT messing up the color and the pattern for Heath's braces. someone at HT needs to buy a blu ray player and do some research. they fix one thing just to leave something else messed up.

I agree with what it really is, but here are two snaps from the mob scene right from the digital copy of the movie, it's more a red than the orange it should be, again, still much more muted than HT's material, but not very orange at all.

Exactly, I can agree it's probably a mod to the BR, the hair on the right side looks exactly the same as far as sculpt, but we are getting a different expression on the face, which is important, and different hair on the left side where it really has personality.

Doesn't change the point, which is depending on what you look at, it can be red, right or wrong to the true prop color, there can be reference material that conveys red and if that's what HT used, that would explain the ^^^^ up.

i see what youre saying, but you would think as hard as HT works for accuracy they would go for the true prop

I would think if they tried real hard they'd have the pattern on the suspenders correct, but they don't, so honestly, I don't know what goes on with HT or Sideshow when certain fabrics, colors, etc. are used on figures. HT's prototype for the v1 by Harue was fantastic, almost a perfect replica of the film costume, and nothing about the actual figure prototype that was assembled and sold resembled Harue's work, which I can't understand. It's a very peculiar process and I'd love to have insights into why things happen the way they do.

Where can I buy a 2nd body? So, I can display both?

Well it depends where you decide to preorder your Joker from, for example www.toys2.net has the new True Type on preorder now. It is due for release right around the time this figure is due for release. Its priced at $29.99. I'd say Sideshow direct but they can't or don't sell DC product.

Just when I was about to buy the Bank Robber version, something in me made me buy the Sideshow 12" Stormtrooper instead. I guess it has something to do with me really bored with the Joker character in the movie. I'm glad I passed on the 1st two Jokers. Somehow I knew if I waited, a definitive HT Joker will come along. :)

i dont see how HT went from Harue's BLANTENTLY blue/magenta blazer. to their crappy grey version

And his properly blue/grey looking shirt to a more white looking one, a nicely done cloth tie to a poorer vinyl one, properly located lapels to shoulderpads.

Like I said, I'm quite curious how the released v1 deviated so much from Harue's model and why. Who knows though, maybe every HT figure's costuming in the protos we see are lesser than some proto work done early on, we just happened to get to see Harue's early work. It just seems odd, one thing that sets HT figures high in quality is the costuming. I've had my gripes with colors and things with them, but for the most part they have some top notch tailoring on mass produced figures, and certainly Harue's work on Joker doesn't seem very unattainable.
