Honestly, I'm sure that both of you have had your fair share of fights. I can testify that I have gotten into many fights in the past, especially when I was younger. This board is not exactly the most friendly place on the web, and there is a lot of jabbing and people who antagonize people to start fights.

So I think we should just try to enjoy the boards, despite the many problems here. We all come here for our love of action figures.

You sure have grown up :hi5:

:goodpost:

I think cr0w has some valid points. A lot of people really do pay for subpar paint jobs or customs. They shell out loads for it. A great example is the BobbyC heads. Cheese Louise, when I see those heads, I feel pity for the people who paid like $1000 for those things.

If cr0w is talking about BobbyC's head, then I get it. I know a lot of people didn't like the flaky look of the paint. I think the reason his was so expensive was the glass eyes, individually rooted hair, and the fact it was made of silicone. But the paint isn't amoung the best imo.

However, painters like Silent Surfer, Small Studios, Boot25, and Kuato create magic with a brush. I don't see why they should be run down for what they charge. I personaly don't think I have ever been over-charged for a paint-job. Every costom paint-job I've had done was less than $100.

But I also think Mag makes great points. I'm looking at my BR Joker right now and the paint is actually quite nice. After looking at my DX, I realize that the BR Joker actually has better paint.

Yeah, I still maintan that the BR is excellent. I actually like it better than the new Nichlson Joker paint-job.

We don't all have to agree on that, but I don't like being told my opinion is invalid because it's different that yours:

I'm glad you think the stock paint looks great. It reinforces my views on people being willing to put up with crap paint. Anyone who thinks the stock BR Joker's paint is great or has ever praised BobbyC's 1/6 paint work has an invalid opinion to me. And I'm actually pretty glad you wouldn't pay for my work. It keeps me out of the league of people who charge for ____.

I doubt he can paint. Not with those hands.

Back on topic. My DX01 has lost it's magic. Now that the woo of it being a new figure is gone, I see all of the problems with the paint applications, the bad looking hair, and the inaccurate outfit.

FINALLY! THE NYG HAS COME BACK TO SIDESHOWFREAKS BOARD! :banana

Welcome back "kid". You have been missed over here. Post a little more often buddy. :duff

We shouldnt get too much n this BobbyC Joker head discussion. Bein one who has bought one and sold it when I had some tuff time, I can tell you people there are enough guys out there who are willing to spend that much on a head. However it really depends on which one. I have surely enjoyed every second I had it and miss it even more. I am close to buy Snakes Joker head, the oly thing that keeps me away is that I am going to ask the ultimate question soon and I need some money for it. ;)
Anyway, those little glas eyes, the real looking hair, the perfect - flawless - sculpt. Everything together made this little diamond to the best collectible I have ever owned. :(

BR does not have better paint. You can tell by how clean certain areas like the eyes, ears, where the hair meets the neck, and such are very rough on the BR sculpt. It's obviously a much dated one compared to DX01. The BR coating also has an odd quality to it (the way it blends and breaks is not as nice) along with the sculpt material being much crappier than DX01.

Now preferring the style/look is a whole 'nother thing.

Haha, thanks for the welcome, bud! :1-1:

I know you really liked it and it was pretty crazy with the silicon and the real hairs and the glass eyes (which was really cool), but I think that the price was way too much for anything of that size, no matter what. That's all I'm saying.

And as for the ultimate question, let us know how that goes! :wink1:

I think they perhaps cannot be compared due to portraying two different looks. I think the DX's face looks more like it has make-up on it, but at the same time it is also portraying a freshly applied Joker. The DX's eyes don't look as much like make-up to me as the BR's do. And you're right, the DX does a better job at the hairline on the side of the head. The eyes on the BR being painted off to the side annoys the ____ out of me. :gah:

As far as sculpts go though, BR wins because of the hair and the more neutral expression. And there is no difference between the sculpting material that I can see, and I have both heads in my hands.

I may have spelled that wrong. Perhaps void can clarify. :lol

Yeah, that could be a factor. I like the messy look of the BR. But I really do think HT did a great job with it. :peace

Thanks man, I've tried very hard to not make my old mistakes and learn from them, and I guess a lot has happened since I first came to this forum, which has resulted in massive changes in me.

Well, Eddy I hate to be the one to point this out?
Why are you "pitying" the folk who bought Bobby C's Joker head now?
At the time you had a major hissy fit because you couldn't get the proto head off of him cheaply enough? I know, because I bought it afterwards (and not for 1K$). And it's still one of the favorite pieces in my collection.
Word of advice, don't worry about how other people spend their money, just worry about your own?

I actually stood up for you quite a bit at the time mate, so could I respectfully suggest, that perhaps you should try a little harder not to start making a whole lot of new mistakes?
:peace

I don't remember having a huge hissy fit. I do remember being annoyed that you got the proto head when I was supposedly gonna get it for free from Bobby.

I think you should simmer down :dunno
