im slighty bummed about the delay but am hopeful it is due to them making improvements to the figure. it is, in my opinion, the best hot toys has offered in joker--at least based on the promotional shots--but to be honest, i am still slightly disappointed by the sculpt. the laughing looks good but the smirking one is decent. not as good as any of the customs suchas adam's, bobby c's, or MRM's.

I think its better than Bobby Cs and MRMs. Agreed that the Ledger likeness isn't quite as good as Adam's but I prefer Yulli's more joker-like expressions - thats what I'm buying, the Joker, not a figure of Heath Ledger.

of course, im saying all this without the figure in hand but i also have never held an imaresqd1 or bobby sculpt and they both look brilliant. which makes me think they look even better in hand, as the MRM i have does compared with all the pics i've seen posted.
regardless of all this, i'm in for the 2.0. but mostly for the kato digs, accessories, and the new body to put my MRM custom sculpt on.
i dont mean to be negative, but this is yulli's 6th and 7th attempt at ledger/joker....

I doubt it's for improvements, Loki is pretty much perfect, very few complaints on that thread and he has been delayed 3 months.
They just were trying to make way to many figures in a very short period of time.

:goodpost: I couldn't agree more. In fact I've never even liked MRMs or Bobby Cs sculpts. Adams sculpt is still the best around if you want a dead on Ledger likeness but I think HT did a good job at capturing both. Still want one of Adam's sculpts though. :lol

As far as the delay, are you guys really that surprised? :lol With theses HT figures I don't get excited for any sore of release date they give me.

This figure is great if you're looking for more scene specific expressions. He does that weird smirky puckered lip thing a lot on some scenes, but he is an awesome figure and an improvement to the previous HT sculpts.

Regarding the delay, meh. I'm not too upset. I couldn't pick him up this year anyway. So this works out for me. xD

I love the hate Bobby C's sculpts are receiving. I guess he's no longer a fad on here like he was about a year or two ago, at least from what I've seen. :lol

I never liked it. It's still some peoples favorite. I appreciate the craftmanship and hard work put in to it and I respect Bobby C a lot but I think the sculpt is flat out ugly.

Ive seen some look better than others when it comes to the paint but I just don't think it looks like Ledger as Joker. Some paints make him look like a monster.

well a month isnt so bad then. hopefully it doesnt get drawn out longer

i've gone back and forth on whether to go in on a bobby c joker, and havent seemed to come to a concrete decision. partly, i think, because i'm still hoping somehow i'll be able to get my hands on an imaresqd1 interrogation sculpt, and if i've just blown my load on a bobbyc i won't have the funds. one thing i will say that has had me a little wary of throwing down is that all the pics i see of bobby c jokers are always in the same position, from the same angle, which makes me wonder if it might be a little weak from other vantages. but again, this is all pure conjecture on my part. people who have them have also tended to say they look a lot better in hand.

i getyour point, the bobby c and mrm sculpts are somewhat straight-faced but mrm did do a laughing sculpt. i dont have it, and its not my favorite. but for me, going in for a dark knight figure is kind of about the nolan movie. but that being said i also have made slight adjustments to the wardrobe like not tucking in the shirt and leaving the suspenders hanging, so i cant say i'm one of those people who is intent on absolute movie accuracy.
but i do like ledger, as an actor in general and as joker in particular and HT is marketing a Nolan-verse Dark Knight Ledger/Joker, which makes me sort of look for that kind of level of likeness. especially when i see other sculpts they do for other movies and yulli nails the likeness. so then i wonder why not with the joker, seeing as they do the figure so much.
or why not do some cool amalgamation? like a tony daniel inspired comic joker maybe with the movie version kato gear? or a lee bermejo version like in the graphic novel 'joker'--which, if anyone's not yet read it, is highly inspired by the joker's look in TDK flic but not a ledger lookalike

Bermejo's Joker was not inspired by Ledger's. My understanding is, if anything, it'd be the other way around ... Bermejo's Joker was created before Ledger's.

Loved the hair/eyes. Sculpt was alright, same level as HT really. Paint brought it down IMO, just wasnt thin enough, I remember seeing some of his that had small "bits" on the paint. Never know if he did it on purpose to get a "thick make-up" look going or if it was just applied too thickly, but that;s the only thing that threw me off..

That and the 1K pricetag. :lol
