Apparently this may be an upcoming Enterbay Joker? From Facebook, apparently posted by Enterbay Bill.

If I were sculpting a face, I'd start by sculpting the actor, and adding the makeup details like you would before filming. It seems so intuitive, I have to assume this is how these artists sculpt a figure.

I agree you sculpt Ledger first then add scars to make him look like the Joker but not get the idea of sculpting Ledger as the Joker by using an expression when he is not the Joker.

That's how Yulli sculpted DX08 - she sculpted Jack Nicholson's portrait and added the make-up to it.

Yes I know but there is not much difference between Jack and Jack as the Joker except that smile.

Looking at that EB head just makes me wish even more that HT would stop using PERS. But I fear it's here to stay.

Hot Toys just wants to make toys whereas Enterbay makes according to their terms "museum quality" figures. According to Bill they have abandoned PERS because it takes realism away from the sculpt.

They abandoned PERS after their awful GoD v3 BD sculpt. There is a case for moving eyes where the character really benefits from it I think. Bruce Lee without moving eyes is a poor decision on EB's part imo. A whole bunch of the DX line aren't enhanced by PERS, but some are worth the trouble - DX Lee and DX Jack are great. I'll say one thing about PERS on DX11 - the worst case of guy-liner yet.

That is your opinion and I know moving eyes allows more positions but I agree with Bill it takes away realism. Look at the difference in realism between the laughing Joker sculpt and PERS one. One looks like a toy and the other could be mistaken for a real person. Jack sparrow is great but that PERS makes him look like a plastic toy (at least up close) despite dead on likeness .

IDK I would not sacrifice realism for the sake of moving eyes. :thud:

Jack Sparrow is one of the few figures that has benefited from PERS.

wow-the pencil is just amazing.how the F does this company do it??
And damn Ledger!!Why'd you have to die!!!
the headsculpt is pretty amazing.there is one pic of Rory's that i loved.it was a closeup of the pers head and chest. In the background you can see the detolf lights...it looks like it was taken on the streets. So realistic.
Kudos!

I too feel pers is a great feature for 1/6 scale figs, as well as HTs forth coming 1/4 figs.

I agree. It works better on some than others but in the end, all of them get an improvement from them.

I hope Hot Toys fixes the eyes on the 1/4th Batman and gives him the squint mod stock.

I like pers. DX Bruce Lee is still the best use of them.

Keatons was great and probably the most useful it's ever been. It's pretty nice on Joker too. I admit it gives figures more options are far as posing and facial expression is concerned. I just feel regular sculpted eyes look better.
