Just saw this thing in person yesterday..not questioning the pricetag now!!

great figure rory and nice pic. yours is one of my favorite of bobby's i've seen. and it looks great in the dx gear and must look even better being able to really see all the weathering.
what made you go with the old dx pants? i have been considering modding the kato pants with the suspenders from the dx01. other than the suspenders i had been under the impression that kato's pants were more accurate.

So I spent a bit of time futzing up the coat. I fixed the lapels as best I could, made them irregular as per the screen coat (a look I love). I steam pressed it (becareful, not for the faint hearted) and got the shoulders squarer as well. And weathered the hell out of it, hard to see here except for the white make-up on the collar, iphone pic I'm afraid. I dirtied up the shoes. This is all DX11 except for the pants (DX01 with gold chain attached) and the head obviously. I will get some decent pics later...

He still offers them. Just check on his Facebook page.

Yeah he is charging 1 k per head painted with hair and silicon head sculpt. :horror

Yeah Kato's hanmade pants are perfect but Hot Toys Joker 2.0 is not Kato's handmade pants despite the fact they are Kato's design. Rory is saying the Joker 2.0 pants do not fit as well as the DX01 ones do.

This figure looks great. However, I'm looking throught pics of Heath's Joker and I can't find any examples of the coat having uneven lapels like that. Not in promo shots and not in screen caps.

[edit] just found a screen cap of the "hit me" scene where his left one is slightly shorter but...

got it. that's a shame. do wish theyd put the suspenders on but i suppose what's done is done. time to figure out how i'll mod them.

The difference is very slight...

Hmm it looks very uneven close up but not very noticeable from your distant shot.

The unevenness is represent chaos and things be not in order. That is why there is a button missing in between the buttons on the vest. Joker Quote " Upset the establish order and everything becomes chaos."

This "display" coat was the one Ledger wore during the "hit me" end sequence. (The lapels are fixed in this position by the way, I had a close inspection). The collar varies throughout the sequence but generally has an irregular left lapel. Personally, I love the look of it, the dirt, the grime and the irregularity of it, each to their own I guess?

The reason I posted that pic was to show that the Dx11 coat can be made to look a lot better (collar or otherwise) than it come out of the box. The shoulder can be fixed and the over all fluffy bathrobe texture can be sorted. It can look quite sharp. I was quiet worried when i saw OMG's pics because the coat looked puffy and undefined.

Adding detail, irregularity and fine sharpness to something this scale tremendously improves it's scale. That was my goal.

I will take some pics with the DX11 head on it later.

When you say you steam pressed it, do you mean you ironed it to achieve that effect?

Yes man, don't know if you've ever done it on a HT figure? I learned a lot about it when i got a second hand Godfather figure. It was a rumpled mess, I stripped it and pressed everything. You cannot allow the iron to touch the fabric directly and you have to put the steam on full blast pointed at the garment for a bit before you start pressing, it's basically to ensure either water in the fabric or a separation layer stops the fabric or coating from melting. A lot of HT fabrics will stick straight to the iron as they are plastic derivatives..
The steam also killed the fluffiness quite a bit, gave it a bit of a better/different texture. This was a WIP pic (head not on properly)..

Anyway, just good to know there is a lot of futzing possible with this thing..

:goodpost:

I have tried it before but I did not put the steam on full blast first before pressing, I just ironed it, it didn't really stick but it did look like it was burning it. I was only doing this on a version one Joker coat to see if I could flatten it. I will try it your way now on the V1 coat again because I am novice and I would not want to do this on something as good as the 2.0 unless I became good at it like you.

Thanks for the tip

Ahh I tried it, but I think I ran into the same problem again and that is that the fabic looks like it is melting as it is losing color. :(

After I put it on the steam on full blast before pressing, do I put the steam at a lower setting when pressing?

I can not get over how stiff yours looks. :clap

have you tried to put a towel, or another cloth between the iron and the coat? that's what you do to prevent the "delicate clothes" to melt and decolorate.

I also tried witha hair iron, that my girlfriend have. works, but you have to wet the cloths before, or they will melt :p
