It is nice, almost musuem-ish, but I need more detolfs to achieve that look...I'm down to a 2 figs per shelf ratio and enjoying that for the time being.

Same here. Im running out of room fast. :lol
And I love the museum quality to single figure per shelf in glass cabinets.

I too have two figures per shelf side by side. If they are pairing characters it looks great like batman and bane, luke and vader, etc.

Thats exactly what Im doing at the moment.

I find it awesome that the fewer figures one has, displayed impressively, trumps cluttered accumulation every time in my eyes.:clap

These figures we collect are beautiful.
I say, play up that fact!:rock

:exactly:

Personally I am not a big fan of multiple figures on a shelf. They look crowed and make it appear affordable (like NECA) which they are not. Ofcourse space permitted for us all. Yes I like to have one 1/6 per shelf. And like someone mentioned "Museum Like". As the Batman Returns figures start to come along I will need to purchase another Detolf and continue the theme.

Thanks guys

I don't like crowded shelves either but I also don't like a single figure per shelf either unless it's a dio or something. Im also not big of detolfs either. I don't like the glass looks. I like what Maglor does with his by putting some black fabric down on each self.

I love detolfs. IMO its the only clean professional way to display your figures. Those cases Ecko uses are nice too. Personally I dont like what Mags does with the black fabric. I think it cheapens the look of the display. Just my opinion though.

^ That what I have, a Billy Bookcase. I like those the most. I think without a dio or some sort of solid color for the backing or shelves detolfs look cheap. Im not hating on anyones stuff, it's just me. It's still better than what I had before the billy. I had them all standing around my computer and printer. :lol It was horrible. I think the Billy Bookcases are for me.

Don't really need a museum like display. Im a 29 year old man-child with the soul of a clown. I like toys and that's that.

For sure. To each their own man. I like the museum quality display because that pretty much how my whole room is. Im an artist and Im pretty OCD so the clean detolf look is for me.

:clap Amen to that brother.

Mine just crowd around on my bookcase, which means I can't get to the books without moving lots of small bodies. Priorities...

And another photo to add to the pile.

I'm a late comer to the hot toys scene and just bought a dx11 and dx12 from a couple of members on this forum yesterday and this morning. I can't wait to join in and post pictures too!

I'm a big fan of the one figure per shelf look as well, but I do kind of agree with you in that a Detolf doesn't look all that great with the glass back showing a boring wall behind, and the glass shelves showing wires from the lights (although the strip lights don't have this problem as much as the Ikea Dioder pucks do), so I added some black backing to the back of my Detolfs and added mirror shelves. Looks classy and hides the ugly wires, lol. My original plan was to print high quality dioramas and use those as backing for each shelf, but I don't have access to a printer that can print large enough images.

Wires are not an issue with detolfs, People only have this misconception because of the pictures they see of people who wire them up messy or even wire them up messy themselves. I feed the wires of my dioders down the back of the metal frame. No wiring shows and it doesn't look untidy.

I meant the wires showing underneath the shelves, and the actual light puck itself. Looks ugly from the top as you can see it through the glass, hence why I used mirror shelves to cover this. The strip Dioders don't have this problem so much as they look neater placed along the front of the shelf and there is less wire running to the side.

Breezed over the puck comment :slap. The pucks are bad with the wire running through the centre of the shelf i agree. Im interested to see what OnesixthBruce comes up with, he's in the process of creating detolf shelves with intergrated lighting so we'll see how they turn out

Shelves with integrated lighting are a good idea. Did you drill a hole in the bottom of your detolf to run the wires at the back? I'm thinking of doing the same. Currently got them running down the pole at the front and then exiting out the door at the bottom.

No, didn't drill a hole in my first 3, not yet anyway. When i set them up last year i too have the wires tight against the front frame and they exit through the door. I have 3 detolfs side by side, so the wiring which goes out the door is hidden between the bases sort of sandwiched between them out of sight. I have two other detolfs next to my tv with another 3 planned they will all be wired up with a hole drilled towards the back though when i get around to buying the dioders.
