One of my friends saw the specs and pics for this DX 11 Joker and swore up and down that the PERS headsculpt for it was mediocre. He hated it. He also didn't think some of the clothes were up to par either.

I tried to convince him that it was an improvement and he wasn't having it. Then that teaser for Batman came up last night with the Joker and he started praising Joker, taking back what he said. I think because he saw the two of them together and, again, "something just clicked". :lol

Not that that's a bad thing, that's just how this hobby is. If there are DX 3.0s some day it'll be the same feeling but just with a new, never before seen collectible.

It seems like the more you examine it, the more you like it. I liked it to begin with, but when I would review the Specs and Pics each time, I'd find myself liking it even more. It's to the point where, now, every time I see it, I'm just mesmerised and in awe.

Adam > Bobby > HT

Adam has improved tremendously but I still prefer BobbyC's. Both are still talented.

Back to the new Joker 0.2. The facial expression has grown on me, but I do like the expression a bit more on the Enterbay version.

I think the newness of headsculpts sort of blind people, myself included.

It's not so much that these headsculpts are improvements of one another, official or custom, just that they're brand new. Something sort of clicks in your head when something new is released be it a new still of an upcoming film or a photo of a new figure. It's because we've never SEEN that one before and they're are few portraits in this hobby, currently, that are "bad". For the most part they're all pretty brilliant.

Improvement or not I think if we looked back at the response to the Bank Robber Joker back in August 2008 or one of the many heralded custom artist sculpts compared to the response to this new PERS head, I think it impressed more people back in 2008.

Not to say that this is a bad sculpt, it's not, I think it's great, can't wait to own one. Just saying that people, myself included tend to get caught up in current events. This week it's DX 11, next week it'll be Batman or Spider-Man, last week it was Avatar Jake Sully, before that Jack Nicholson Joker and before that '89 Batman. Any one remember Christopher Reeve Superman?

Best and greatest are relative terms. I seriously think we cling onto what our minds have yet to experience and most of us, in one form or another, haven't experienced this figure yet. That's the appeal. The new teasers, the photos, the preorders. An all new release of something we don't have.

Truth.

Months later people will nitpick this one to death, as well.

Oh noes!1 The socks are still inaccurate!1

The only custom i'd ever take over this new DX is Adams Ledger. That's it. The rest are meh. So imo Adams (neutral) Joker sculpt is still my favorite. The likeness and paint is phenomenal.

I love that I bought my two DXes. I sold 'em and made enough on The Joker alone to probably fund this and the new DX Batman. I didn't buy them to sell, but if HT wants to play the game, then I refuse to be on the losing end.

best laughing joker head sculpt!

Once people realize the limitation of the laughing sculpt (and its no longer new) I see people turning on it and going back to the plain, ol' stern sculpt as 'the best'.

I don't get why it's being referred to as the stern/serious sculpt, it doesn't seem like he's serious to me in the least. :dunno
