True. Just a shame the serious head isn't as accurate.

Don't agree.

I'm really sticking my neck out I know, but I'm officially going on record and saying: In my opinion, the PERS serious sculpt on this figure is the best Heath Ledger as The Joker I have ever seen. Better than the DX01, better than the Bank Robber, better than the Cop Joker, better than the laughing sculpt this comes with, better than BobbyC's, and better than any of Adam's.

Some of Adam's may look a bit more like Heath Ledger, but only just. And that doesn't mean they look more like Heath Ledger as The Joker.

Just looking at laughing sculpts, I tend to think that Adam's is better than this one. So again, I definitely think the PERS sculpt is the better of the two.

I like the serious head, I like it a lot, certainly think it has a better likeness than Bobby's, but I think Adam's jokers, particular some of the more recent ones come out on top for me personally.

Just my opinion of course :wave

Pretty much how I feel about it. I still prefer Bobby's however.

So why is this the only photo that says "Batman - 1/6 scale Collectible Figure" at the bottom? New Batman on the way?

I think the newness of headsculpts sort of blind people, myself included.

It's not so much that these headsculpts are improvements of one another, official or custom, just that they're brand new. Something sort of clicks in your head when something new is released be it a new still of an upcoming film or a photo of a new figure. It's because we've never SEEN that one before and they're are few portraits in this hobby, currently, that are "bad". For the most part they're all pretty brilliant.

Improvement or not I think if we looked back at the response to the Bank Robber Joker back in August 2008 or one of the many heralded custom artist sculpts compared to the response to this new PERS head, I think it impressed more people back in 2008.

Not to say that this is a bad sculpt, it's not, I think it's great, can't wait to own one. Just saying that people, myself included tend to get caught up in current events. This week it's DX 11, next week it'll be Batman or Spider-Man, last week it was Avatar Jake Sully, before that Jack Nicholson Joker and before that '89 Batman. Any one remember Christopher Reeve Superman?

Best and greatest are relative terms. I seriously think we cling onto what our minds have yet to experience and most of us, in one form or another, haven't experienced this figure yet. That's the appeal. The new teasers, the photos, the preorders. An all new release of something we don't have.

Nah, it's really better. :rotfl

Dead on observation. That is me to a "T" my friend. Grass is always greener or something like that...

I do agree with you. I think I'm even starting to see it in myself with the new Batman pic. There the Joker is, front and center, yet, in the excitement for the new Batman, you start to scrutinize all of the little details, and it takes you a minute to snap back to the incredible Joker figure dead center. As for Reeve Superman, he's the one constant,I get excited every time I see a cool picture, or when I look at it. Just incredible...

But I have this special power. I know what is going on psychologically (the newness and all that goes with that allure) and yet my special power allows me to go buy the thing anyway:wink1:

True American here-if I want it; I will have it. Logic be damned!

I agree with both sentiments.
I can see Maglor's point also...I do see a lot of on screen representation of the joker in 2.0. The only thing is the expression. The likeness is there but something about the expression...it's not one of the stronger expression.
The laughing one though is incredible.
So as a whole, tremendous value as basically getting an Adam laughing sculpt with Kato outfit with the desk and lamp. And, those bad ass shoes. Lol.

I do think that Adam still makes the best joker.

One of my friends saw the specs and pics for this DX 11 Joker and swore up and down that the PERS headsculpt for it was mediocre. He hated it. He also didn't think some of the clothes were up to par either.

I tried to convince him that it was an improvement and he wasn't having it. Then that teaser for Batman came up last night with the Joker and he started praising Joker, taking back what he said. I think because he saw the two of them together and, again, "something just clicked". :lol

Not that that's a bad thing, that's just how this hobby is. If there are DX 3.0s some day it'll be the same feeling but just with a new, never before seen collectible.
