I know there's this idea of having to sell prior versions of figures while the going is good before prices plummet. However, I don't think this new DX 11 Joker and the upcoming Batman are going to kill the value of previous releases on the secondary mark

Not hurt by the DX 02 release or the upcoming DX 2.0

I've been saying this forever. Having a super duper ultra realistic upgraded version of any character is NOT the only reason to own a collectible. I said before if I had that kind of money I'd probably still own a stock version 1 and DX01.
Why do you think people still buy thr original 12 back Star Wars figures? Because the sculpting is awesome? Because they are " accurate" to the movie? ____ no! People buy them because of sentimental value. Because they were the first Star Wars figures. And, finally, because they are awesome.
Collectors are going to want the DX01 because it was the first DX or because it's an HT Joker collectible. Or maybe it was their first HT figure and now they have to re-buy because it was sold regretfully. Or maybe someone just likes the personality of the DX01. I still like him. Lots of reasons to buy older less accurate figures.

Indeed, good posting. Like you I'd do that (keep previous versions) and in fact had been doing it, but eventually my bills just got too big to sustain that kind of collecting.

The fact that the facial expressions are so different virtually guarantees that the DX01 will retain value on Ebay.

There is significant enough differences in accessories and sculpt to easily justify owning and displaying both.

I was thinking the same thing. If you wanted a very fresh and clean shot of Joker (makeup) then the DX01 is still your only option imo.

Absolutely brilliant!

Can't wait for this. :rock

Seriously though, I mean HOW amazing is that!?

Yep. The only thing left that you could improve on would be the hair. But why bother, it'd never look that good.

To me from a certain viewing distance the sculpted hair on the Joker figure looks like real hair.

Some comparisons posted on Facebook:

The regular expression is a very good sculpt but this kinda shows why I think the laughing one is better. The chin is slightly too prominent on the HT sculpt. Also I think the hairline (too much of a V shape) and ears (too angular) are off on both the laughing and the regular (this comparison doesn't really demonstrate this though). The DX01 actually had a more accurate hairline IMO.

And before people start calling me crazy and a hater - I love this set and i'm buying 2. But I'm accuracy OCD :wave

My favorite part of TDK is when Batman, Gordon and Joker all break out in the dance sequence.

Someone did a stop motion video with the V1 Joker and the V1 TDK Bats a while back. One would do a dance move and then the other. It was like a dance competition between the two. It was hilarious and pretty impressive. Someone should post it if they have it or can find it.

Agreed. Think I will highlight it a little though when it arrives, unless HT amend the paint scheme before then.

And that little change, I think, would make a world of difference too.

Yeah I remember that, it was pretty damn impressive. It's on YouTube.
