Can't believe this is going on again, for a 3rd time.... another 6 months of manipulations and it's not one or two, 100s of pages before release. Reminds me of the 90s when all the girls went nuts for Peter Andre.
Jesus, tell me about it.![]()

This is good comparison guide, but that photo of the DX 1 really doesn't do the head justice. The head looks much better in person.
I love both sculpts, but I do think there'll be some tweaks here and there; probably for the better. These manips that I'm seeing really aren't suggesting any major overhauls, just minor tweaks. I think that's a testament to how good this thing actually looks. If I could suggest any changes, they would be:
-SOCKS!
-SOCKS!
-SOCKS!
-accurate suspenders added
-lighter green highlights in the hair
-chain(if it's included already, great, but if that's just a placeholder, then I really hope they add it)
I'll leave the serious stuff to the tweakers.![]()
Welcome to the ever popular DC section.
This is 1/6. I wanted it to be 1/3 but forwhatever reason it came out in half scale... If people like it, I can still do them.
Keep in mind, these are just a few millimeters in width...

I like the serious head, I like it a lot, certainly think it has a better likeness than Bobby's, but I think Adam's jokers, particular some of the more recent ones come out on top for me personally.
Just my opinion of course![]()
I think the newness of headsculpts sort of blind people, myself included.
It's not so much that these headsculpts are improvements of one another, official or custom, just that they're brand new. Something sort of clicks in your head when something new is released be it a new still of an upcoming film or a photo of a new figure. It's because we've never SEEN that one before and they're are few portraits in this hobby, currently, that are "bad". For the most part they're all pretty brilliant.
Improvement or not I think if we looked back at the response to the Bank Robber Joker back in August 2008 or one of the many heralded custom artist sculpts compared to the response to this new PERS head, I think it impressed more people back in 2008.
Not to say that this is a bad sculpt, it's not, I think it's great, can't wait to own one. Just saying that people, myself included tend to get caught up in current events. This week it's DX 11, next week it'll be Batman or Spider-Man, last week it was Avatar Jake Sully, before that Jack Nicholson Joker and before that '89 Batman. Any one remember Christopher Reeve Superman?
Best and greatest are relative terms. I seriously think we cling onto what our minds have yet to experience and most of us, in one form or another, haven't experienced this figure yet. That's the appeal. The new teasers, the photos, the preorders. An all new release of something we don't have.
Well said
Maglor loves to lose I guess![]()
Of those, I probably still like the BR Joker head (main one) most, though the production didn't match prototype in the paint area, of course. Just a sinister looking mother____er.
I don't care what anyone says, all the Hot Toys Joker releases so far are great figures, including the V1. If you can get a V1 for cheap then do it, its a nice figure still, though i don't display the sculpt it comes with rather use the Bank Robber messy makeup sculpt on the V1 figure minus the coat with sleeves up.
Yea, no sense selling off your Jokers and have some of the other cool accessories sit in a box, get creative with what you have currently plus DX11 which will make for quite a display besides, every Joker sculpt shows different expression, all which i like and are worth keeping and not looking vastly out dated IMO.
But, at the same time i understand those collectors who wish to sell off their DX01 to upgrade to a figure that has a greater display presence plus make a few extra bucks on the side to go towards other interests etc.

How is this a debate?
Sinister, yes. But more like Ledger?
And the new expression is much more versatile than just "sinister'.
The smirk is widely open to interpretation.
Overcoat make the head look smaller.
