Hard to believe some of you folks are bagging Rory's work here.

Yes, the hair does require some futzing (as you'd expect), and it's work on a pre-existing sculpt, but the guy has done some seriously good work here. Kudos where it's due, and it is indeed due.

Thanks man, I kinda expect it in this thread!
:lol

Not to be an ***, but these custom heads don't look at all better than the stock one. And that's not saying much.

Sorry, I just had to say it.

I have picked your post to answer, because it baffles me. I've seen you *****ing about expensive customs now on a number of threads I visit. Not sure why exactly, but I will tell you this. If you think the stock figure looks better, than I wish i could borrow your eyes, and see what you see, because it seems like a genuinely bizarre thing to say, and that's nothing to do with my mods.
You are of course entitled to your opinion, and I respect that, but It seems like such a strange thing to say that it genuinely confuses me. Anyway man, happy for you.

Now..

Real hair needs futzing, the only way I could have set it exactly as it should be before shipping would have been to harden it permanently, but then where's the fun in that?

I will leave the conversation now, as I appreciate I'm not exactly objective on the topic, but so far everyone that has received one of my heads has been extremely happy, and that's what i care about.

Naysayers are common place. I will repost a couple of pics that Thrustmaster posted of his beautifully futzed head over in my thread (if people think it looked better stock, really? then you are entitled to your opinion, personally I'm very happy with the results, and I would consider myself my hardest critic) and now I will head to the exit... adios my purple and green friends...

Anyone that says the Hot Toys version is better then Rory's is blind and don't know the true meaning of art.

I've seen the pics posted by Para and Thrustmuster of The Joker that Rory modded and it's a piece of art.

My thoughts exactly. It blows the stock sculpt out of the water.

Collectors appreciate different things. Some want stylized, others want an exact replica from the film. Some embrace mods, others prefer bone stock.

Rory has serious talent and has really done an amazing service to the members on this forum who commissioned him. The final product looks great and is an improvement over stock in terms of facial likeness etc. The hair is well done, albeit a bit thicker than Ledger's was in the film. Still, excellently executed.

I've had a few rooted hair Jokers over the years, and all of them were less than perfect in my eyes. Currently, I only have a stock DX11. It's a good representation of the character for me and staying at retail was important. If HT does the another version, maybe I'll trade up. HT could learn from Rory's facial improvements.

Bottom line: opinions vary, but Rory's effort here is undeniable. His mods produced a stellar take on the character. :clap :rock :duff

I'm looking forward to the day where this board has moved on from Heath Ledger Joker dolls and all the varying degrees of personalization with customs and modifications.

Well in fairness Fab, you are in a Ledger Joker thread. :lol
I'm gonna glue some fuzz on my Terminator doll next.

I'm not a Ledger freak myself but a Returns freak. But different strokes for different folks.

I'm looking forward to mods to a future Hot Toys Michael Keaton sculpt. If you don't use real pubes for his hair Rory, it'll be a major fail and I'll disown you.

I personally feal the restock dxo1 is a better likeness than the dx11. I would have never purchased the dx11 except I saw Rory amazing work. Then I had to get one. Here he is in all his glory, thanks again Rory for taking on a couple of commissions. I love this thing!
