I asked Angolz why the price on midas was so high at $495 and if it was the price HT gave them. They said that the toy fair prices was lower just to attract customers to buy the "limited edition" figures and after that the price is adjusted "accordingly".

So unless Angolz is giving customers scalper prices, then maybe SS would have a similar price point.

Sad but not worth the price, cant believe its more expensive than igor.

since when does angolz set retail HT prices for the U.S.? midas should be no more than the MVII BD, $294.99.

if it is, then someone is scalping!

Well secondary markets on a store/manufacturer exclusive will always be high. Angolz can't sell Midas for retail because they can't get it for wholesale price. Retailers get Hot Toys for about 70% of msrp from sideshow. But if a store gets Midas, or like BD MK7, it's because they went out and paid retail price for it too.

Still, that explanation sounds bogus. Better than saying "we went and bought up some of the customer stock to resell to those same customers".

this is my one and only gripe dealing with BBTS. but that problem can be avoided by preordering early. yet certain pieces like you said are bought at retail just to be resold at the inflated secondary market price.

I also believe they are scalping. But if SS puts up a similiar price, then this will be an easy pass for me.
