Got impatient waiting for Sideshow so I put in an order for one from Japan. Honestly only doing it because the price comes out to the same amount as what it is on Sideshow, I don't think I could justify a $60+ price increase just to get a figure sooner. Can't wait to get this guy in hand and see that beautiful sculpt in person!

I did the same. Thank god this order didn't have an NRD on it, so I could just get it over with now. Excited to see the figure in hand.

This isn't a knock on anyone, but I'm always astounded to see how impatient people can be in this hobby. It's like you already waited 1+ year from the pre-order solicitation, what's another couple of more months?

To me, waiting is the part of the process with this hobby...but that's just me and everyone is free to do whatever they want, including paying a premium to get it sooner than later.

That said, I am looking forward to receiving this whenever my vendor finally gets their allotment...but it does seem awhile now since final production photos were released...

From personal experience, my patience ends when I'm able to get the figure I want and it equals out to sideshows prices or cheaper. I would never pay the prices they sell at when they are first release in Hong Kong on ebay or sites though. It really tough for me to see a figure released and have to wait 3 months for sideshow to get it, then if there is some sort of delay(which seems to be happening now) its even worse. Then there's the excitement factor that most definitely diminishes over time, even after watching all the review vids and pics of a fig. But thats just my feelings on it.

I mean I get it, but at the same time it's like we've waited for soooo long already as is, what's another lil session of waiting ya know? I dunno, that's just my thought process. There obviously is no right or wrong answer.

I do get what you saying for sure, especially if your gonna cancel your pre order to get it and spend more to do it. I just hate waiting at all lol, its the worst part of the hobby for me. This is the reason I dont pre order anything anymore, in hopes of getting a figure early for sideshow prices with shipping and tax. So when I see a fig I want at that pricepoint I get stoked. I started with this hobby with only ordering from sideshow and only them, then found toyswonderland, and then toysbuyingagent with their free shipping. I still use sideshow for the most part because a lot of figs never get to that pricepoint for me.

I have no loyalty to Sideshow. I'm getting it cheaper, and faster elsewhere. No point in waiting until the take my money... and then finding out that they didn't get the figure when they thought they would.

This was pretty much my reasoning. I'm not going to pay a premium but if I'm getting it at the same price but faster, why not get it? I've been pretty loyal to Sideshow in the past, and I'm not mad about delays or anything, but there's no reason for me not to buy the figure at the same price to have it sooner.

Got mine today. Everything is great except for the masked head. Mine's got a bit of the webbing pattern on the corner of the eye by the nose. Not a big deal though, it just made it easier to use the unmasked head.

I might try to fix it at some point. I have a feeling if I'm just able to remove the magnet cover, I could re-glue it to hide the excess webbing pattern.

Dang, that sucks. Any chance you might be able to share a pic though?

You know what, this might be an issue with this release. I just saw the same thing in the Justin's Collection review, but on the opposite eye. Take a closer look at the center of the mask by the eye on the right. A little bit of the webbing pattern is visible.

Hmm, the eye area doesn't look bad to me...what looks bad is the head seam on TOP of his head.

Mine absolutely does not look like this. Either the webbing or the seem on the top of the head.

I know this video has been up for a while. An interview with sculptor Yulli, unboxing Spiderman.

Its very interesting that the host specifically mentions the Jake Gyllenhaal head sculpt twice. Maybe im reading into it but it sounded like he's hinting at it happening. And HT posted this on their fb

Thanks for sharing, I watched it earlier and caught that too. Also thought it was fascinating that the very talented Yulli said she also sculpted the infamous Ant-Man sculpt. They also talk about how this is her first time seeing the final Spider-Man product, and reacts to how the final product compares to her initial sculpt work. I thought that was interesting as it indicates that the artists are basically entirely hands-off the product once their initial portrait is submitted. Which means there’s a ton of room for a great sculpt to be poorly executed in the final product and for the artist to have no say over the matter.

The Paul Rudd sculpt to me definitely felt like a good sculpt poorly executed by production; like if the teeth had been a separate piece it could have been fine.

This is all good news. Hopefully EG Cap is another that'll be on the way.. been a long wait for all of these new ones
