I don't think Hot Toys care about that though, it's only so SS can say it's released which will put people off from buying from sellers who get their stock directly from Hot Toys.

Its all about optics for the US based company as collectors will think theirs is on the way so are less likely to do something like cancel and buy from [insert your online reseller of choice here] - either way Hot Toys get their money for the figure.

Good point. But either way, it's just a smokescreen to cover the fact that you're still likely in a 2-3 month wait for the figure, "jointly" released or not.

There only one on eBay at the moment for Pre Order and even that is selling for a ridiculous price, not that I care because I don’t plan on selling him once he arrives but it’s still comforting knowing that.

Ebay and pre-order in the same sentence… Can’t compute. Failure to understand.

Why are people pre-ordering on Ebay?

This 2 year wait for every figure plus the 6 month or more wait for sideshow to receive a figure is killing the hobby for me. I was all in on the boba 2 pack and then after seeing the book of boba show and the unbelievable wait for the set, I’m not even bothering. I lost all enthusiasm for the set. It’s happening with all of the mandalorian figures. Once the hype wears down, I realize I don’t really need most of these figures. Jango is the last figure I will preorder.

I feel exactly the same way about the Boba 2-pack. No word yet from Alter Ego (who I don't blame for any delays, mind you) but the longer it takes for the set to ship, the less enthusiastic I am for it.

I am more and more shifting to a "purchase upon release if I still want it" mindset. Anything Fett related I'll pre-order because...well, check out my basement thread if you want to get clarity on that one...but otherwise I'm a wait and see guy now....

To be fair at least the Boba 2 pack released early in HK, remember it only went up for order in February of 2021, but I definitely understand the frustration of still waiting while people back in late January and early February got theirs, while some of us also had the "Awaiting shipment" for 3 weeks, which was a pain.

But the waits for some of these figures, such as TCW Anakin, which is almost at the 2 year mark (even though it was just released last week), and Jango is ridiculous and kills the fun of the hobby.

Collectors are still waiting for Endgame Loki, what is taking that figure so long?

Ehhh, the Boba two pack was released early in VERY SMALL batch numbers. I was fortunate to get mine from Sideshow but many others are still waiting. I remember the days of 12 months to release and ALL the stock of the figure was released at once. Before the dark times...

Oh I'm with ya, I was part of the batch with "Awaiting Shipment" staring at me everyday for weeks on weeks. I'm just saying at least the Boba pack came out after a reasonable wait time, while some figures that we haven't gotten are almost at the 2 year mark, whether it is Star Wars or not.

Wasn't Pennywise over a 2 year wait too? Like how are collectors supposed to remain excited for a figure that takes that long to release?

The figure was released, then about three weeks later everyone ordering from Sideshow got a ship notice, then we all happily tracked our shipments and then shared our joy as we unboxed, some people had better pix to share true, but everyone was like YAY isnt he gorgeous!!! Look at this!!

That was before the dark times
