This isn't directed specifically at you but I often see complaints about the hot toys dead stare. Then when they try something like this, or doc brown...yep you guessed it more complaints. I wish every release was like Yoda too, but it simply ain't gonna happen.

Well, I'd argue HT nailed taxidermy Yoda, but I'm with you on this one - I like they tried the smirk with Han, and it's clear what they were going for. To me they got about 2/3's of the way there, maybe more. Maybe the sculpt will have a "sweet spot" where it looks spot-on. The 1/6 movie Patton smirking head is like that - weird looking, then turned slightly and it works great.

Smiles can be risky - I've seen a few custom Indy sculpts that looked so promising then once painted it was "eww, pedo Indy!" comments. The difference between a cool cocky smirk and "oops, I let one slip" can be more subtle than most realize.

With the hands on the hips this sculpt does take on a bit of "well hello boys!" so that pose the Asian photographers (and HT box art) have done doesn't really work.

I plan to display him only from his left profile 3/4 view. Lessens the smirk dramatically. Only time I'll pose him any other way (fully smirked) is when i mod his left blaster hand into a thumbs-up.

The torso is longer, so he's a bit taller than the regular tall Trooper they put out a few years ago.
