That's exactly what I'm thinking, Hot Toys want to release these as a pair (like Snake and the Boss) and it's Magneto that's holding it up

That would seem a valid reason for the delay considering Xavier has been ready for months now.
They did mention they were working on 1 of 2 way back when.

I feel like this figure has been put on hold for Days of Future Past. I feel that Hot Toys want to take advantage of all the returning characters and basically cover all the X-Men films with this one film. Similar to how Loki was scrapped in favour for the Avengers version.

That's because Avengers was coming out quite soon after Thor, DOFP isn't coming until 2014 and they have the license to all the returning characters with the X3 license anyway.
Yeah I'm aware that they have the license for all the characters but I think from a marketing perspective it makes more sense to release them for that film when FOX will be marketing the film and they can capitalize on that.
It's actually closer to the release date of DOFP than it is from the release of First Class. So maybe they are just waiting it out.
That's a long *** wait though, we're talking about 16 months until the next X-Men film is out which will be around 2 years after the figure was first seen, might as well just cancel it and do a new one from scratch if that's the case

Yeah that's why I said they'll do something similar to Loki, take a decent figure and improve on it for the DOFP release.
I'll certainly be interested to see how they handle the release.

Very true, The Fass must want it perfect.
EX's have always been in addition to whats been done already, XFC hasn't had any done yet, it's unheard of to make the only figure from a license be an event Ex.
Cant see it myself, generally the Toy Fair figures are secondary characters or variations of characters of big licenses. For this the first figure from the First Class license to be a Toy Fair exclusive would be a bit odd

Well, I'm gonna allow myself to be happy and assume the delay is for a Magneto. Really, it would be kinda foolish to release Xavier without Fassbender at least on the heels of that release. HT has never really charted the X-Men waters before (Origins Wolverine aside), perhaps they're also wanting to gauge how well X3 Wolverine does?

Magneto would be a no brainer as he only differs from Charles in the head sculpt its the same suit they should have announced it long ago.
I guess the only way to for Hot Toys to make the full line up of figures for any series is for the movie to make a crazy amount of money like the Avengers. If all we see from this movie license is Erick and Charles I would be content but one without the other would really feel incomplete.
