My friend (or should I say amico?), you seem to be a new collector of Predators, just like me.

Congrats on the Berz. I got mine a month ago and am going to open it once I've moved (very soon). What else are you going to get?

Feel free to post more pics of this monster pred.

Thanks! Yes my Predator base is in northern Italy :)
I started collecting one year ago, bought different figures, but in the last weeks I realized that instead of having an over growing 1/6 scale collection I had to focus on my favorite movie character ever. So I sold my DX13, DX12, Catwoman, Superman, MkII and started with the Predators.
At the moment I have Classic and Berseker from Predators, Elder from Predator 2 and Ancient from AvP, so now this is my current wish list:

I also hope, like many other of us, that they'll make a Wolf 2.0 soon.

When I put berserker out of the box I wasn't so impressed, but now in my detolf he looks very good.

Yeah, I started in April-May this year. Only predators for me. I might get a xenomorph at some point, but predators are just something else. As we all know.

It's good that you're downsizing and going nische. You're gonna love the City Hunter, that's the one that wowed me the most even before opening its box.

The AvP stuff I'm no fan of, tbh. I like the purebred Predator(s) film predators. I feel content right now, but damn, I wish they made Jungle Hunter 2.0 as well.

Don't know if I will buy a Jungle 2.0, maybe I will just upgrade my Classic. And about the xenomorph, well, the only xenomorph I like is the dead one on my Ancient's spear.

Just out of curiousity, I've seen a few new members around here collecting Preds, I was just wondering how many have only recently just discovered the Predator movies? With us getting older now there's a whole new generation of sci-fi/movie fans growing up who may have never seen/appreciate the originals up until recently.

Personally, I just (April 2015) discovered this whole collectible community in general, and predators specifically.

That said, I'm in my early 30's and discovered/watched the first film when I was 7. It was way too early, in retrospect; couldn't sleep normally for quite some time. That fear turned into fascination, then love, during my teens.

So, now, having discovered these figures, I'm totally fine with collecting toys again after a two decade hiatus.

Regarding the films, I've seen Predator over 40 times (once in cinema), and P2 around 15. Predators ~10. AvP maybe 6 times. AvP:R is a joke, so twice.

How about you?

When it comes to the new generation, I'm doing my utmost to have my mid-teen brother to watch them, or at least P1 & P2. So far, no success. But I will NEVER give up. Unfortunately, I doubt too many of the new gen peeps know about predator. Therefore I applaud the gaming industry for providing necessary Predator-CPR every couple of years.

I'm 28, first watched Predator when I was about 9/10 years old and continued to watch it throughout the years (like yourself fascination turned into a love for the movie and characters). I only discovered the collecting side of things around 2003 when I used to buy McFarlane and post on the Spawn board. I only discovered Hot Toys after the original AVP Preds were going for crazy $$$ on eBay!!! :lol

Do you still collect preds? Got a sense you sold/wanted to sell off your preds. Anyway, I hope you do. There's nothing like interstellar hunters that kill for fun.

Well I am 30, I started collecting nearly one year ago but I always have been interested to action figures, the problem was that I hadn't enough money for a hot toys, so now I'm trying to regain the time I've lost! About the movies, first Predator I saw was Predator 2, because an older cousin of mine about twenty or more years ago had a VHS rental shop and the cover of P2 always attracted my attention, until my father let me saw the movie, and I fell in love with the creature's outfit. I have no brothers, so the only person I have to make some proselytism is my girlfriend, but she prefers xenomorphs..

Yeah sold most of mine. Only Preds I have left are Wolf & Tracker and NECA's closed mouth 1/4.

Only a very accurate 1/6 or 1/4 P1 or Wolf would get me back into Preds again.

I'm lucky I guess as well regarding the leather on mine. Bought mine earlier this year NIB off of Amazon. Leather seems to be holding up just fine, though I haven't touched him since his initial pose I put him in since taking him out of the box.

The only issue I had was his red laser sighting on the mask never worked.

Wait, you got it from Amazon? Must've cost you a fortune? Seems like the vendors still selling Hot Toys preds on Amazon don't know about the secondary market. Anyway, I hope you're happy with it.

Regarding the LED, it seems 99% of the time it's a matter of the metal "plate" being bent so it doesn't cleanly connect to the battery. Earlier posts in this very thread deals with this and goes in detail through how to fix it. Good luck mate.

Oh, and post pics of your berz!

No, not really actually. $225 when all was said and done if I recall.

Yes, I did a bit of research regarding the LED issue when I first got him. Tried bending the metal plate upward a bit so it made a better contact with the battery. Nothing. Bought a new battery. Still nothing unfortunately. Not a big issue to me though, being that I'm not going to have it on when displayed anyway. He's an awesome looking figure! Very sturdy body and fine craftsmanship; especially with the hair. Between the laser sight not working and the leather still being in tact, I'd definitely choose the latter.

As mentioned, I put him in this pose and haven't changed him since.

Badass pic, dude.

That's not bad at all. Got mine recently for $215 (MISB & shipping included) and that was after finecombing eBay and local ads for quite some time. Didn't know Amazon had upped its game.

Thanks man!

Yeah, the 210's - 220's seemed to be the going rate when I was looking for him earlier this year also. Glad to hear that you got him too and hope that you're happy with him! Is the leather in tact on yours and does the LED work?

I am, although, to be frank, I am yet to break its seals pending moving into a new place in two weeks (got him early July). I did inspect him through the box's window though, and everything non-electric looks good. Will update here if any issues become apparent once I've opened the box.

Cool! Hope everything on him is ok.

Thanks SS17!

Damn, I've been trying to sell mine for sub ~$200 for months now. It's at $190 right now and no one still wants it:lol

I don't know man, for me at least, factory sealed/brand spanking new is a requirement. Seeing as you can find that for not much over 200, I'd say maybe that's why it's still on your hands.

That said, to find it at that price, I had to patiently comb evilBay and local ads for a month or so. Seems like the general going for price, MISB, is around $235-250, so your price isn't too bad either if newness is not a requirement.

I'd keep it. It's just too badass for <$200.
