It's 21 days out from Sideshow!

Even that sounds like a horribly horribly long time away.

If memory serves the T2 T-800 was a heck of a wait aswell. It was the first thing I received after a huge lull of absolutely nothing and I was in a permanently pi$$y mood because of it....I'm just never going to stop with this hobby am I.

he was suppose to get a small shipment of this this week but looks like HT is spread pretty thin between Xmas and the Tokyo show and with holiday shipping madness he is back to expecting it in Jan :(
But they did seem to have shipped him a huge lot of IM MIV :p

Meh, I am good with January, thanks Geil

I'm excited about this arriving, been watching the movie over the past few nights getting photo ideas and all. I definitely like the way the figure looks better than real Arnie, don't know what the difference is that makes me feel that way, but i do. Only real difference I can spot is that Arnie was almost always shiny like his skin was sweating constantly, where the figure doesn't have that.

Tech noir shouldn't have that effect but I wouldn't mind seeing it on the exposed endo-eye sculpt or the final BD - that pale sweaty look you speak of.

wow thankfully it wasn't this week or that would have been automatic bankruptcy for me. Jan sounds good :)

Technically he should for Tech Noir, he was quite oily in that scene and the chase scene that followed.

It's just so weird, I've said before, I'm not a huge fan of this look with Arnie in the movie, but for some reason, I find the figure appealing. It's odd.

How could you not. Just look at the execution of this figure. In fact I'm sure the figure will make you more of a fan of the floppy-haired Tech Noir appearance in the film itself than you have been up to now.

As excited as I am about this figure, I'll still be more excited over a biker or BD from this movie.

It's a really exciting time. I've always loved the Terminator films, but the lack of merchandising has kept me from getting as into them as other properties that have been heavily marketed. I'm so into movies and so into collecting, the more I can merge both together, the more exciting for me. When Terminator was just something I could watch or listen to, it was one type of experience, but with merchandise that makes me feel more connected to the movies I love so much, the experience all that much more fun.

As an action figure man the McFarlane Terminator figures were my first experience of ''wow...I've finally got some decent Terminator stuff''. The kenner line was erm..unsatisfactory to say the least. But the McFarlane Movie maniacs series 4...yeah the Arnie likeness went out the window and that was a big let-down but finally, like you put it, I had something to connect me more to films after a long time of just fantasy. Then there was MMV, the T3 line and years later the NECA line, by which time I had also started on 1/6th - thankfully on time to get every single poseable Terminator figure Hot Toys have made.

They've done brilliantly so far but I hope Hot Toys doesn't disappoint now in not finishing out the T2 and T1 lines because of their newfangled Indy and Star Wars licenses. OK I'll be slightly disappointed but not taken by some deeply unpleasant surprise if we don't ever see Furlong Connor or T1 Sarah - but T2 BD T-800, T1 Police shootout and Kyle Reese 1984....to not see them now would put a big dampener on this otherwise golden age of Terminator figures.

My first taste of quality Terminator products, sadly, was the T3 T-800 from McFarlane, the weakest of the T films, but, it has Arnie's likeness and the quality of hte figure is pretty nice, weathering and fine detailing on his costume, but certainly led to wanting something T2 that nice. After that came Sideshow's line, which was really exciting at the time, then we got NECA and now Hot Toys.

I remember popping the head off of the T3 figure and putting it on the T-2 from Movie Maniacs. It worked out pretty well for the time.:lol

I never bought the McF T2 stuff, partly because it wasn't too readily available, but also, I just didn't feel a need to buy them when I wasn't happy with the artistic liberties.

Eh, being a kid I couldn't really fault the line. At the time I thought it was cool to have figures from a rated R movie and other than micromachines, they were the only Terminator figures out there.

They don't hold up very well today, especially now that I focus on detail and articulation, but as a kid I had fun owning and playing with the regular T-800, T-1000, John and Endo. They were movie accurate to a point, though I remember having a fit with the blast apart T-1000 and just gluing all of it's guts and parts so it wouldn't explode.

It kind of annoyed me not having a regular T-800 and T-1000 but I got over it with imagination. Plus, as a kid and even today I was always enthralled with the Cyborg/Battle Damaged aspect of Terminator so I think I would have preferred exposed endoskeletons, metal faces to "regular" versions anyway.

AMEN !!! Sometimes I feel like that's all I live for :rotfl ...built / building my entire basement around movies and collectibles (ie; a theater and collectibles room attached to it). You can see the evolution and build of it here https://www.blu-ray.com/community/gallery.php?member=gates70 along with some collectibles.

You basically summed up my exact feelings in this post. :goodpost:

I love 3-D representations of my favorite movie, video game, and comic book characters. It allows me to take my appreciate for a film, game, or book to the next level especially if the figure is represented faithfully to the source material. With companies like NECA & Hot Toys holding licenses for a majority of my favorite movie & video game properties, for the past few years, I've filled my shelf (and closet) with the absolute best representations of these iconic characters and creatures.

Which reminds me I have yet to see your finished basement with the Tumbler and the case I made you ;)
