Finally cracked, bought one locally. Should have it in a day or two. :hi5:

Always wanted a single Terminator figure and have been contemplating which one for months. Not really interested in a huge display or something, just a simple figure. Needless to say this thread has won me over to the classic look. Was tempted by the BD DX13, also portraits are very iconic scene in the movies, but this Arnold is just 100% MEAN!

:hi5:

Great choice sir,

I was blown away with this guy when I first got him & its still my Favourite Hot Toys figure. I love T1 though must of seen it 50 times or more.

Yeah its a shame Arnie wanted to play good guys in all his films after T1, he makes a for a real bad @ss mofo in T1.

:goodpost:

Especially after his eyebrows are burned off. Used to give me the creeps when he is looking for Reese and Sarah in the car park.

When I was a small kid I walked into the room while my father was watching this and I just happened to walk in at the scene where the T-800 pops his damaged eye out over the sink. I think I started screaming if I remember correctly.

Your dad could have warned you to be honest. :lol

My little nephew is obsessed with the arm and eye surgery scene! He always asks to see that part. :lol

Keep an eye on that one, :lol

In all serious though Arnie just looked believable as a deadly cyborg in the Terminator and although I think his overall best performance in a movie was Predator he really had some screen presence in T1.

I was just thinking, I remember when I thought $180 for this was pushing it as far as MMS figures go, especially after we got the T2 Arnold for $170 and T-1000 for even less than that. My initial thought was, "well, I'm definitely going to get this, but **** that price".

Now? If this figure came out today, it'd easily be pushing the $220-$230 range.

Yes sir, I remember that and remember the hard time I had spending 150 on dutch, my first hot toys figure. I must have though about it for a couple of weeks before finally buying, now I'm hooked.

Hot toys have cornered the market, got everyone hooked and raised prices, textbook drug dealers and plastic crack is what they sell:lol

Yeah and like most dealers they are full of their own ****. This price increase upon price increase needs to be halted.

What I would have given to be able to have bought this for $180.

You people had it so good....so good...

Guess what came in the mail today? :)

Only had time to look him over in the box, but damn this thing looks nice!

I have had scores and scores of Hot Toys figures over the years. I can't even keep track of how many. But this was probably the most excited I was of any of them, and it remains at the top of the mountain. Part of it is execution, but the other part is character and film. In my mind, there are only a small few that can beat T1 T-800, and Hot Toys hasn't done them yet. Just looked back at the beginning of this thread. My early post (14) still holds :lol

____ing awesome. All other figures and companies (Sideshow included) need to bow down. Will be the centerpiece of my collection for sure.

On another note, are any of those great police shootout shades made for this figure still available anywhere? I have come to start accepting that HT may not do that figure, so I'm thinking I might bash my own in the way that many of you have.

This feller made them:

I haven't given up all hope, it still seems unlikely to me that they would not make such an obvious big ticket figure. Maybe he'll be announced as DX13 is releasing (like what happened as DX10 was coming out)

Thanks dev. Is he still doing them? I was in your mindset for the longest time, but now. . .I just don't know. HT seriously doesn't seem to give a **** about anything that isn't Iron Man/Marvel. Yeah, we get tossed a random figure from this or that franchise every now and again, but I don't see much method to the madness so that I would bet on any given character getting made. The 2 Terminator DX guys released so close to each other gave me a little bit of hope, but neither of those was T1. . .

It's been 3 years!

I think we'll get him eventually because they'll feel obliged to throw us a bone amongst their superhero onslaught, knowing that figures from the Aliens and Robots franchises were at one time their primary bread and butter. Hopefully they'll be watching DX13 sales and realise the interest is still very much there. At this point though I hope it isn't a DX. I'm not convinced by the look of PERS even on the DX13 prototype let alone what we'll end up with on the mass produced figure. So I hope they'll be done with it.

I don't know if Commando is still making the glasses but no harm in asking him. Maybe he has some lying around.

Yeah, I'm definitely with you on the PERS. It's a miss more often than a hit. But the fact that the last two T-800s were DX makes me think any 3rd version would also be, if it's made at all. It's certainly a character that deserves a "deluxe" look of a regular and battle damaged head/outfit. I PM'd Commando. Thanks.

I agree. I feel PERS should only be on select figures. I'd be very surprised if PS version isn't a DX, but then again. I thought Robocop would be a DX.

PM who? If you don't mind me asking.

I can relate to this, although I dont have a lot of figures compared to many people here... but this figure is still my fave figure in my collection and I was sooooo happy to get him in the mail on release! :) I ordered two at the same time too, so it was even more exciting when I received it!
Ive never ordered 2 of the same figure before or since.

I think its inevitable that a Police Station Shootout version will be made 1 day...
The question is, how long until its made?
Hot Toys do need to calm down with their Iron Man/Marvel stuff.:gah:

A bit off topic, but I was sent this link recently that I find quite interesting. Its an interview with Hot Toys that goes into which figures they personally want to make, and which sites they visit to for fan feedback(shame they dont come here...).
I found it odd that they only use a few photos for reference when sculpting. At least thats what it sounded like they were saying.
Anyway, heres the video -

LOL @ Yulli wanting to make a figure of herself, and Dr. Jeung keep mentioning about Yulli being fired! :lol
The guy doing the interview(Dr. Jeung) recently bought 3 of my Freddy Krueger sweaters!
