We're talking about one of Stan Winston's great creations here.
no we're not.
P2's designer was Mike McCreedy.

It's funny the way P2 fans get all the bashing yet over in the Scar thread life is peachy. Agreed Scar is a vast improvement but he's still got his issues.
Well, the actual Scar Predator mask was absolute pure garbage; so in that case Hot Toys did fans a huge favor by taking liberties and making it better. The resulting sculpt embodies the character of Scar, but without looking like a rubber halloween mask picked up in the discount bin at a Party City. It boggles the mind why Hot Toys (and Joseph Tsang) would put more effort into the lead Predator from that awful AVP film than they did one of the two iconic predators built by Winston Studios. I guess Tsang's a bigger Scar fan than he is a City Hunter fan.

Or Scar just happened to jive better with Tsang's natural sculpting tendencies. I highly doubt he consciously put more effort into Scar. They're all the same to him.

Fact is, they took their Shadow/Classic Predator, who are completely different characters than Predator 2, and repainted the head for this character. Would you be fine spending $220 on a Tony Stark figure that was just their Christian Bale/Bruce Wayne head sculpt repainted with a goatee? Of course not; you would say, "That's not Robert Downy Jr. That's Christian Bale with a goatee". Well, this is the same thing. People are just more forgiving because it's a monster face instead of a human face.

I don't think it is a fair comparison since we are talking about a monster face and not a human face. We see and recognize the detail of human faces much different than animals/movie monsters so it's very different than putting a goatee on a Bruce Wayne and calling it a Tony Stark.

By that theory all signs point towards positive for Wolf.:yess:

I know, right? Bricks will be shat the day he's revealed. More so than for Scar or any of the other recent Preds HT's released.

On the same token, I'm fearful of how the P2 Elder will turn out.

Indeed, the Wolf man love will be insane that day.:medic

Sadly I can already see how that thread is going to go.

We're talking about one of Stan Winston's great creations here. Perfection should be the minimum.:lecture ;)

The amazing/improved from the movie headsculpt, and the overall instant wow factor of "damn thats scar" are the reasons why i think not to many people are complaining over the little details that are off in the scar thread, and there are quite a few details off on it, but overall that figure looks amazing.

I think it's a completely fair comparison; after all, Hot Toys substituted one character's face with a completely different character's face. The fact that most people couldn't tell one Predator from another in a line-up is beside the point. That's like saying it would be ok for Hot Toys to repurpose a headsculpt if it were a lesser-known actor people wouldn't recognize anyhow. Like, if they reused their Sam Flynn headsculpt for Hawkeye by putting on a pair of sunglasses and painting his hair brown.

This pic is the reason i am so excited about this figure, ya its not perfect(by far) but it is the best 1/6 p2 release we have had imo, and it looks incredible next to the classic/p1 which is the figure i am putting him next to.

Agreed, two of the most iconic predators IMO. My Classic has a spot beside him ready =]

Using the hot toys classic predator figure to represent the predators character is almost as bad as using the hot toys predator figure to represent p1 :rotfl seriously no hate to any predators fans, just my opinion, but what do i know wolf is my favorite pred and i like avp as a pred universe more then regular predator universe :lol

My Classic is good enough to represent the original P1, standing beside the new P2 they're gonna look awesome together.
