Pretty sure that's just the skin coming down from his upper jaw before splitting in two to from his...******. If there were a tongue in there, you'd see it in this shot:

Or this one:

Predator2_75.jpg
The only time the tongue came out was in that small 3 seconds I mentioned in the bathroom. Just watch it for yourself and I doubt you'll dispute it anymore. Or we can just compare screen caps over and over again...:cuckoo:

there it is.

Thank you! Debate closed.
glad to help.
here is some more info:
the tongue exists since first Stan Winston scetches for P1.

Also, it seems all the alien trophy skulls I've ever seen, whether in the movies or in collectables, never seem to have the human looking eye sockets and nasal cavity part of the dome. Why is that?
because it's based on Stan Winston's aliens, who didn't have that part completely.

i don't know though if Winston was the one to make that skull.

I know that the HT p2 head and mandibles are not accurate (I believe you guys) but I can't really figure out what it is. With the mandibles, I'm lost. The head though, is it the slope of it?

The parts that are the most damning to his likeness is the "nose" and upper mouth. For one, he's supposed to have an upper lip. Note the distance from his upper lip to his "eyebrows"; that space on the real thing is very short, but very long on the toy. The eyes should be lower in the sockets. Overall his eyes/nose/upper mouth should just be much more scrunched together. The upper part of his mouth shouldn't be so thick or pink. His lower teeth should be longer.

Just chatted with Kathy at sideshow and she told me he is expected to arrive at the warehouse around the 5th of Feb.

I would lower the brow instead of extending the mouth, because the crown is also too short so you could kill two birds with one stone. Mine is far from perfect, and that angry-brow look the P2 has still isn't quite there, but here's my humble attempt:

I see. Thanks for the info.

You have too much time on your hands...thanks for taking me to Predator nerd school 101.:lol

You guys should be detectives or forensic analysts with eyes for exactness like that! But realistically, this is a 1/6 (not 1/4, not 1:1) TOYYYYYYY!!!!! A TOYYYYY!!!! Do you want me to say that again? I would never notice this if not for some of you peeps bringing it to light.

With that being said, I still don't like those references, because it shows the Pred in 2 times of either extreme pain, or anger, both of which would cause exaggerations in his face. The toy doesn't capture those moments, and to me it is not a fair comparison (to those pics in question).

I do appreciate the attention to detail, but it just seems to me some get carried away and blast HT, even though they still are going to buy it. I don't get that..:dunno

You should check out some of the human figure threads if you think we're bad in here, Indy DX springs to mind.:lol It's ok to blast human sculpts but when it comes to a fictional alien character they can do whatever they like then?

a TOOOOOOYYYYY is a cheap thing for stupid kids to play & fight with.
let's return to what HT say themselves:
The 1/6th scale City Hunter Predator Collectible Figure specially features:
- Authentic and detailed fully realized likeness of City Hunter Predator in the movie Predator 2
you are right that what it actually is is A TOOOOOY instead of what it's called.
but you should say it to HT as they are the ones wrong.

The differences really aren't that difficult to spot; if you're not familiar with how the character looks, well, that would be like judging one of human head sculpts of an actor you're not familiar with. This may be a toy, but it's a $220 toy; what are we paying for if not accuracy?

Fact is, they took their Shadow/Classic Predator, who are completely different characters than Predator 2, and repainted the head for this character. Would you be fine spending $220 on a Tony Stark figure that was just their Christian Bale/Bruce Wayne head sculpt repainted with a goatee? Of course not; you would say, "That's not Robert Downy Jr. That's Christian Bale with a goatee". Well, this is the same thing. People are just more forgiving because it's a monster face instead of a human face.

That's how he ALWAYS looks, except for the the "oh crap!" face he makes just before Harrigan cuts his arm off.

It's funny the way P2 fans get all the bashing yet over in the Scar thread life is peachy. Agreed Scar is a vast improvement but he's still got his issues.

We're talking about one of Stan Winston's great creations here. Perfection should be the minimum.:lecture ;)
