Well Whedon certainly knocked this way out of the park. Every character had great representation and I thought Cap was great but the helmet looked goofy. The figure looks much better.

I find myself wishing that Marvel would update Cap's costume to look more like the movie version (like they did with Hawkeye). The whole outfit really sold the idea of "super soldier" as opposed to costume (which TFA poked fun at). I have always liked the Ultimate Cap better because those pirate boots just look awful. Cap's costume in Avengers looked awesome...although it looked more impressive with the hood off.

Thank God you don't run Marvel.

The first thing Ill do if I buy this will be to sell the damaged shield. Probably go for a pretty good price and absorb some of the cost of the figure.

Heck, thats one of the bits I'm glad we're getting with this figure. I will be using the battle damaged shield when Cap is displayed.

i think it's supposed to be the suspension of disbelief thing, in that the whole thing is a hood he just slips on.

Now the film is out can someone clear up the mask/ hood issue.

In this his photo it looks like there is no hood and the mask/ helmet is a separate piece:

In the film though the suit has a hood that has the logos visible on it. I thought the mask was the hood?

:dunno

Kinda funny how it shows ear holes that clearly NOT there when hes wearing it. :lol

Mini-spoiler

Given that the hood/mask is removed late in the film, I am guessing that it is a separate piece, but because it does wrap around the neck, he can pull it back and let it hang like a hood.

It makes sense that a heavy cowl should not cover his ears at it would interfere with his hearing. However, it seems just as stupid to leave them uncovered. Perhaps the ear coverings are a separate piece that allow protection, but have some ventilation to better facilitate hearing?

I suspect that scene was simply filmed early on, before they decided to not have his ears stick out of the mask. There's concept art floating around that has exposed ears, so it seems that was the plan for a while. Would love to see what Evans would look like with the ears sticking out, but I suspect it must have looked even more ridiculous than the mask does already, hence why they changed it.

I really LOVE the promo art they used for Avengers with his suit. Wish it had looked more like that in the movie.

I think they were trying to break away from the typical retro looking superhero mask. Would be cool to see what it looked like though.

It was initially suppose to show his ears, then they changed the whole look. Adding the helmet too.
